a bit of a shock

in these parts in december the sun goes down around 3:30 so by 5 it is pitch black unless there is some snow. well last week before the snow came to stay i was walking home about 5:30. the price of electricity has gone so high that on many of the side streets the town doesn't turn on the street lights. it was as dark as it could possibly be but i am used to it and have always liked the dark. it is a very safe rural area so there is nothing to be afraid of.

on such nights i have bumped into things i never even saw but this thing i could see from a long distance. either it was lit up or it glowed. at first i thought it was some kind of christmas decoration or something so i was curious and walked straight up to it.

so weird, it looked almost alive. so i said hello in a friendly tone.

when it tilted it's head and opened it's eyes i was so shocked i couldn't move for a few seconds. then i left in a hurry. luckily i wasn't followed. if anybody else has ever seen something like this i would very much like to hear about it.
