The Omni were Aliens - digital illustration drawings and sketches [ESP/ENG]

O.M.N.I Orgasmos Múltiples no Identificados fue una banda de rock formada en el año 2001 en Punta De Mata Estado Monagas Venezuela. Yo fui Vocalista y compositor de la agrupación. Un amigo del sector donde yo vivía en esos tiempos llamado Gustavo Medina tuvo la brillante idea constituir una banda de rock con un concepto y diseño propio. Dibujo en una pizarra unos marcianos y así comenzó todo.

O.M.N.I Orgasmos Múltiples Unidentified was a rock band formed in 2001 in Punta De Mata Monagas State Venezuela. I was vocalist and songwriter of the band. A friend from the sector where I lived at the time called Gustavo Medina had the brilliant idea to constitute a rock band with a concept and design of its own. I draw Martians on a blackboard and that’s how it all started.

Gustavo continuamente dibujaba aliens en un cuaderno además quería ser músico tenía la intención de formar una banda con Abraham Rincones un amigo del liceo con quien compartía el sueño de hacer arte original. Ellos me contactaron para que me uniera al proyecto necesitaban un bajista querían componer canciones y posteriormente salir a tocar en vivo. Yo acepte sin dudas y sin tener ni saber tocar ningún instrumento musical sin embargo eso no fue un obstáculo. En diciembre del mismo año luego de hablar e insistir demasiado en el tema mi mamá me regalo un bajo eléctrico de 4 cuerdas. Descargue varias tabla turas por internet para aprender a tocar, me inscribí en un curso donde entendí muy poco debido a que era muy distraído además el profesor de música faltaba constantemente. Me prepare de forma autodidacta preguntando a expertos e investigando para luego unirme a la agrupación de mis amigos de esa manera formamos un cuarteto de grunge rock Gustavo Chalako Medina en la batería Abraham Rincones en la guitarra además se unió José Córdova en el bajo y Erney Valverde en la voz . Por esta razón Gustavo realizo la ilustración digital de los marcianos con la intención de que fuera la imagen de la banda. No quisimos nombrar a la banda OVNI a pesar del gusto en común por los aliens y por los objetos voladores. Pensábamos en algo más interesante y que tuviera sonoridad al pronunciarlo.

Gustavo continually drew aliens in a notebook and also wanted to be a musician he intended to form a band with Abraham Rincones a friend of the high school with whom he shared the dream of making original art. They contacted me to join the project, they needed a bass player, they wanted to write songs and then go out and play live. I accepted without hesitation and without knowing how to play any musical instrument however that was not an obstacle. In December of the same year after talking and insisting too much on the subject my mom gave me a 4-string electric bass.

I downloaded several tables online to learn to play, I enrolled in a course where I understood very little because I was very distracted and the music teacher was constantly missing. I prepared myself in a self-taught way asking experts and researching to then join the group of my friends so we formed a grunge rock quartet Gustavo Chalako Medina on drums Abraham Rincones on guitar plus joined José Córdova on bass and Erney Valverde in the voice. For this reason Gustavo made the digital illustration of the Martians with the intention that it was the image of the band. We didn’t want to name the UFO gang despite the common taste for aliens and flying objects. We thought of something more interesting and that had sonority when pronouncing it

Nos identificamos con los marcianos queríamos que nuestras obras musicales fueran de otro mundo a pesar de que la música era muy simple pensábamos en la imagen y en ser diferentes originales. En consecuencia se realizamos diferentes ilustraciones mantuvimos el concepto sideral y decidimos cambiar la V por la M como resultado nos llamamos O.M.N.I abreviado para hacer llamativo el nombre.

We identified with the Martians we wanted our musical works to be from another world even though the music was very simple we thought about the image and being different originals. Consequently we made different illustrations we kept the sidereal concept and we decided to change the V by the M as a result we called O.M.N.I abbreviated to make the name striking.

El concepto extraterrestre nos representó sentíamos que no encajábamos en la escena musical local nuestro arte era extraño incomprensible para la cultura de la región. Fuimos marcianos puros. Afectuosos de los abstracto y personificados por imágenes de aliens.

The alien concept represented us feeling that we did not fit into the local music scene our art was incomprehensible to the culture of the region. We were pure Martians. Affectionate of the abstract and personified by images of aliens.

En conclusión cada persona es un universo cada artista es un mundo y estos diseños exhibidos simbolizaron el trabajo creativo de varios músicos que aventuraron en muchas tarimas. Enalteciendo la cultura rock de Venezuela y regalando arte de otro universo. A través de aliens

In conclusion each person is a universe each artist is a world and these displayed designs symbolized the creative work of several musicians who ventured into many pallets. Exalting the rock culture of Venezuela and giving art of another universe. Through aliens
