Hello Alien Art #Hive friends!... I recently received an invitation that took me by surprise and, at the same time, gave me a feeling that something was coming together. @blessskateshop, one of the most renowned and respected shops in the neighborhood, asked me to design a new batch of boards. The brief was clear: create something that captured the energy of the street, the weight of skate culture, and the visual impact that represented the brand's essence.

Olá amigos da Alien Art #Hive!... Recentemente, recebi um convite que me pegou de surpresa e, ao mesmo tempo, me deu aquela sensação de que algo estava se alinhando. A @blessskateshop , uma das lojas mais conceituadas e respeitadas do bairro, me chamou para desenvolver a arte de uma nova remessa de shapes. A proposta era clara: criar algo que tivesse a energia da rua, o peso da cultura do skate e o impacto visual que representasse a essência da marca.

When I sat down to brainstorm the concept, I didn't want to follow the obvious path. I wanted to blend color, movement, and attitude. Skateboarding, for me, has always been more than a sport; it's a visual language, a manifesto in constant motion. From this idea, I began to build an identity that united urban chaos and the digital, the analog and the psychedelic, something that reflected the present of street culture.

Quando sentei pra pensar no conceito, não quis seguir o caminho óbvio. Quis misturar cor, movimento e atitude. O skate, pra mim, sempre foi mais do que um esporte, é uma linguagem visual, um manifesto em constante movimento. A partir dessa ideia, comecei a construir uma identidade que unisse o caos urbano e o digital, o analógico e o psicodélico, algo que refletisse o presente da cultura de rua.

The color palette came naturally: deep blue represents the asphalt and the city skyline; purple conveys the urban night, where art blends with the shadows of streetlights and the glare of headlights; magenta conveys the digital vibe, the transition between the real and virtual worlds, where skate culture is also expanding today. All of this is layered with effects reminiscent of glitches and visual distortions, symbols of a connected generation that still seeks authenticity.

A paleta de cores veio naturalmente: o azul profundo representa o asfalto e o horizonte da cidade; o roxo traduz a noite urbana, onde a arte se mistura com a sombra dos postes e o brilho dos faróis; o magenta traz a vibração digital, a transição entre o mundo real e o virtual, onde hoje a cultura do skate também se expande. Tudo isso sobreposto por efeitos que lembram glitchs e distorções visuais, símbolos de uma geração conectada, mas que ainda busca autenticidade.

In the center, the large "B" dominates the composition, an icon that represents @blessskateshop, but also a larger idea: "B" for base, for blessing, for bravery. It carries within itself the symbolic power of those who build, of those who create, of those who don't wait for approval to express themselves. The repetitions of the word "Bless" in the background reinforce this urban echo, as if the shop's name were expanding through the streets, graffitied on imaginary walls.

No centro, o grande “B” domina a composição, um ícone que representa a @blessskateshop , mas também uma ideia maior: “B” de base, de bênção, de bravura. Ele carrega em si a força simbólica de quem constrói, de quem cria, de quem não espera aprovação pra se expressar. As repetições da palavra “Bless” em segundo plano reforçam esse eco urbano, como se o nome da loja se expandisse pelas ruas, grafitado em muros imaginários.

This art wasn't born in an isolated studio, but from the street corners, sounds, and stories I hear when I walk with my camera or watch a skateboarder cross the avenue. It carries the DNA of those who live in the city and transforms it into visual language. The digital texture and psychedelic touch reflect the fusion of analog and technology, a faithful portrayal of the times we live in, where skateboarding is as much a physical act as an aesthetic and cultural expression.

Essa arte não nasceu de um estúdio isolado, mas das esquinas, dos sons e das histórias que escuto quando caminho com a câmera ou observo um skatista cruzar a avenida. Ela carrega o DNA de quem vive a cidade e a transforma em linguagem visual. A textura digital e o toque psicodélico são um reflexo da fusão entre o analógico e o tecnológico, um retrato fiel do tempo em que vivemos, onde o skate é tanto uma atitude física quanto uma expressão estética e cultural.

When I saw the finished boards, lined up side by side, I realized the project had come to life. They weren't just wooden boards; they were mobile paintings, pieces of art on wheels. Each board carries a story, an energy, an identity. And knowing that these boards will be driven around the streets, gaining marks, scratches, stories, and falls is what makes it all more real.

Quando vi os shapes prontos, alinhados lado a lado, percebi que o projeto tinha ganhado vida. Não eram apenas pranchas de madeira, eram quadros móveis, pedaços de arte sobre rodas. Cada shape carrega uma história, uma energia, uma identidade. E saber que essas pranchas vão circular pelas ruas, ganhar marcas, riscos, histórias e quedas é o que torna tudo mais real.

Working with @blessskateshop was more than a commercial collaboration; it was a dialogue between generations, between creators and skaters, between those who observe and those who experience the streets. This partnership reinforced something I've always believed: art and skateboarding are born from the same impulse: the desire for freedom, expression, and belonging.

Trabalhar com a @blessskateshop foi mais do que uma colaboração comercial, foi um diálogo entre gerações, entre criadores e skatistas, entre quem observa e quem vive a rua. Essa parceria reforçou algo que eu sempre acreditei: a arte e o skate nascem do mesmo impulso, o desejo de liberdade, de expressão e de pertencer.
