In my last crochet post I showed my leftover stash, it's a big mish mash of various colored small bits of yarn that are mostly 1 ball or less. I was trying to decide what to do with it all and I came across some big poufy footrests using scrap yarn and that seemed like a good way to get rid of it.
I started a few weeks ago and do a bit every day. I am using two strands together to make it go faster and a 7.5 mm hook, when one strand runs out I try to grab another one that will match the color scheme to create some kind of flow.
Here is how it looks so far, with me for scale:
Here are some of the ones I saw when searching for inspiration :
The color scheme is looking good so far but I'm getting down to my least favorite section which will be yellow brown beige and maybe black/ white leftovers.
I attempted to stuff it with some throw blankets and pillows so I could visualize the size but it was barely enough:
I'm not sure if I will have enough yarn to complete it which is pretty annoying so it might turn into a long term project where each time I have leftovers I will add a bit more.
I'm also a little worried about how much polyfill I'll need for this thing!

It goes quite well, the design and color combination are to my liking. I hope you can finish it soon.
Ty getting closer every day ✌️
Your colour choices are gorgeous! I have no doubt that the footrest is going to be so cosy!
Can't wait to out my feet up tbh 😍
This is indeed beautiful
Great combination of colours
Ty 💕
Lowkey wanna make one now just to sit on it like a beanbag lol.
I've thought of it 😂 would probably need to make an inside case? so all the little beans don't sneak out
Omgg I love this crochet product🥺 You had me in the color play, looks like you really mastered the color wheel. I love the color combi🥺😣♥️ As well as the final product.
Ty I hope the last batch of colors doesn't ruin the vibe lol
✨ What a beautiful project! I love how you are using leftover yarn to create something so useful and creative. I’m sure it will look amazing in the end, even with the mix of colors. 🌈
Ultimately I wanted something practical because I really don't need more useless stuff hanging around then I already have lol!
These arts are beautiful 🤩
Thanks ✌️
Woah, the colors are amazing, it looks incredible.
Ty I just added more orange and yellow so it's going very rainbow 🌈
Congratulations, it looks spectacular. Best regards.
Ty!
The dimensions are great, but what I like most is how they look with the colour combination. They are really nice and colourful! Excellent work!🤗
Ty yeah the color is flowing well rn, let's see how it looks when I get through the last scraps :)
It will be great to see them, and you are going to enjoy them a lot!
Seems like a very big project..
Hope the yarn would be enough.
You have many strings on your lyre, I see! I have crocheted a lot in my life. Very nice creations.
That's awesome that you crochet too, would love to see some of your creations!
No, you can't have that, because I have nothing left. There was a time when I thought all that crap would make women stay home and get brainwashed. You have to understand that I was born in 1956! Now I see it as a great art! You see how brainwashed I was then! But you should know that I collect everything. I have skeins of fabrics I cut into strips. My daughter says I'm a typical hoarder and a Bag Lady!
Oh that's a pity that there's nothing left but I understand why, things have changed so much and I may have felt the same back then 💜
Oh my!!! This is awesome and so big! Lovely colours too. Is it freestyle or you followed a pattern?
No pattern but I did follow some basic math to make the circle on top which I may have messed up because it started ruffling a bit. Might also be because I used different yarn weights too idk!
Ohh I love this
u r amazing my dear 😊
This is turning out amazing! After you master this one... you should do a giant beanbag chair to go with your poufy footrest!

I would LOVE to do a beanbag chair LMAO! It would take so much time and yarn though idk if it would be cheaper to just buy one 🤔
