Occupying Space In My Mind | nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for September GEOMETRY Theme No. 3

For my Geometry design No. 3, I wanted to explore the concept of Geometry. I've always been fascinated by the field of geometry. As an average math student, when presented with my first semester geometry class, I was thrilled and knew I'd succeed. This is simple, I thought. I had no idea what was in store for me on the next level. I soon realized I'd never venture into the math teaching field.

Some concepts remain with you throughout life, such as the Pythagorean theorem. I'll leave the other theorems to professionals or lovers of geometry.

The word "Geometry" is derived from Ancient Greek (geōmetría) land measurement and developed into a branch of mathematics concerned with properties of space such as distance, shape, size, and relative position of figures.

I discovered that Geometry is, along with arithmetic, one of the oldest branches of mathematics. Until the 19th century, geometry was almost exclusively devoted to Euclidean geometry, which includes the notions of point, line, plane, distance, angle, surface, and curve, as fundamental concepts.

Originally developed to model the physical world, geometry has applications in almost all sciences, and also in art, architecture, and other activities that are related to graphics.

Geometry also has applications in areas of mathematics that have been deem unrelated. For instance, methods of algebraic geometry are fundamental in Wiles's proof of Fermat's Last Theorem, a problem that was stated in terms of elementary arithmetic, and remained unsolved for several centuries. This aree of geometry is beyond the scope of my knowledge base.

However, during the 19th century several discoveries enlarged dramatically the scope of geometry into numerous fields of study beyond the physical land shapes and sizes.

According to the challenge post, NFTShowroom will feature all the month's Geometry themed Art minted on the NFT Showroom home page / twitter and Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. This challenge is for the full month of September. To join in check out NFTShowroom's challenge post here: nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for September: Geometry.

To participate:

Below are my steps in creating the design.

The design is titled Occupying Space In My Mind.

Since mathematics is all around us in our daily lives, we utilize it perhaps without thinking of the fundamental concepts. I wanted to capture my thought process when approaching how I deal with geometry. For instance, recently I continued my promise to declutter my indoor living space by year end. Measuring dimensions I'd require for storage is an element of applying geometry to the problem.

It took me a several moments to work it out. Thankfully in this modern age, we have tools available to immediately assist in these efforts. What would the world be like without advanced calculators.

Creation Process:

Applying an abstract radial pattern and low angle of high rise building as the background, I hope I was able to project geometrical shapes and patterns onto the canvas. I utilized StarryAI for a geometrical pattern based on the Fibonacci concept. Other images are free-sourced. The female image I located provided the alien vibe.

Low-angle Photography of Red Metal Tower ~ StarryAI Geometrical Pattern ~ Female ~ Fractal Complexity image with orange background ~ Abstract lines designed by me ~ Abstract design titled "Airplane" designed by me.

Uploading all type images into Canva, my design program, I was able to blend them adding layers of elements.

Once completed, I took the still image to Deep Dream Generator to produce the video. I used their Pro Video setting which cost 70 credits. I was thoroughly pleased with the result, as I didn't expect the female's eyes to blink as though the geometry equations were being coast from her thoughts through her eyes.

Your art has been manually curated by the LMAC community. Amazing!

Thanks so much @lmac community. I appreciate your curator stopping by and viewing my mixed media project. So pleased it was of interest.

Just wanted to say that I missed last week's LMAC opportunity to vote on finalists. I'll check more often so that I don't miss supporting the community. Take care and have a nice rest of you week.

This is magnificent ... mind being blown by geometry in the most amazing way!

Apologies for the late response. What a truly awesome compliment for my geometry theme. I appreciate it and am so pleased you liked how it turn turned out. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and view my design.

Take care and have a lovely rest of your week.

As you rightly say, geometry is something very ancient and is found in everything, like fractals, which I love, and I really enjoyed reading the information you provided about them. Your design is spectacular in the sense that the colors are very well combined with those geometric figures, and above all, I loved the animation as a whole. Above the head, the geometric images flow as if searching for ancestral answers. It's great!😃

That was one of my favorite parts, the animation. I didn't mind the 70 credits it cost one bit. Having thoughts flow from your mind is awesome as we need to get some items out from weighting heavenly on us. I also thought the color combination worked well in the geometric patterns. I appreciate your visit and insight as usual. You always raise valid points in your analysis. Thanks so much for your support and engagement.

Take care and have a nice rest of your week.
