Nightmares and fears - Traditional illustration

Hey aliens, hello again 🖤

We all have nightmares, probably fueled by our most intense fears. I am terrified of cruelty, mistreatment of defenseless beings, perversity and insensitivity, and the loss of all those qualities that distinguish us from beasts.

So when I thought of the word nightmare, dark and murky images came to mind. Among them, I think of a film that deals with the issue of violence and harmful social lifestyles from an alarming perspective, in which children and adolescents with interrupted lives and defenseless cats suffered a series of terrible damages, as a consequence of living in a hyper globalized and insensitive world. It's an interesting movie but it negatively affected me a lot. And that reference, added to the sensations of what for me would be a nightmare, I reflected in this character.

Despite the reason that led me to create this, it is one of my favorite illustrations, because I feel connected.

Todos tenemos pesadillas, probablemente alimentadas de nuestros miedos más intensos. A mi particularmente, me da miedo la crueldad, el maltrato hacia seres indefensos, la perversidad y la insensibilidad, la pérdida de todas esas cualidades que nos distiguen de las bestias.

Así que cuando pensé en la palabra pesadilla, vinieron a mi mente imágenes oscuras y turbias. Entre ellas pienso en una película que trata el tema de la violencia y estilos de vida social dañinos desde una perspectiva muy preturbadora, en la que niños y adolescentes con vidas interrumpidas y gatos indefensos sufrían una serie de daños terribles, como consecuencia de vivir en un mundo hyper globalizado e insensible. En realidad es una película interesante pero que me afectó mucho de forma negativa. Y esa referencia, sumada a las sensaciones de lo que para mi sería una pesadilla, las reflejé en este personaje.
