AN UNEXPECTED RETURN
Yui had an ex boyfriend way back in her high school days. She broke up with the guy when she caught him talking to someone over the phone, saying "Yeah, everything is going smoothly. Yui is a perfect maid. Perhaps she can be my future slave as well." Yui heard those words while the guy is laughing as he mocks her. She's so pissed. Not only that she figured that he's a lazy guy, but she also figured his real intentions upon hearing that phone call. Realizing that she has no future with such a bad guy, she broke up with him in an epic way. She confronted him then she literally kicks his butt for a finishing move as she breaks up with him.
Hideki wakes up from a bad dream, mentioning Yui's name. He felt the heavy felling he had when Yui told him about this ex. It's the same feeling after having such bad dream. He shrugged it off though when his attention got diverted when he spends his time hanging out with Yui.
YUI INDIRECTLY CONFIRMS HER FEELINGS
This is Yui Minami from the story I shared in my two previous blogs. This time it's in digital drawing version. This is the first digital anime drawing I made. I was able to buy a digital drawing device and I started practicing digital drawing last year (around January). A month later, I was able to draw this one. This scene is the continuation of the story I shared on my two previous articles.
Hideki and Yui are mission partners and one of the 12 couples in my story. They are mission partners who don't get along because Hideki is not a nice guy the first time they've met. The two of them often have a trash talk and it's been a battle of sharp tongues when they talk. But the flying roach changed everything, as told in my previous blog.
A week after that roach mission, Yui's ex, named Gai, suddenly came back. He's been disguising as a human all this time but he's actually a demon. He came back pretending to make up with Yui but his real intention is to kidnap her to be a subject for an illegal human experiment. Hideki doesn't know about it but he felt something wrong with Gai, sort of a bad hunch. Gai secretly glared at Hideki behind Yui's back and Hideki used it as an excuse to hate him but he's actually jealous and won't admit it.
A silent love war starts between the two guys while they are hanging out with Yui. They restrain themselves from fighting in front of Yui. Their friends feel a lot of tension between these guys.
A flying cockroach freaked out Yui as it nearly landed her forehead. She managed to dodge quickly so it landed on the wall instead. Gai starts to make his move to comfort her. Hideki is so jealous. I imagine him disrupting their supposedly sweet moment by almost landing his fist on Gai as his punch pierces the wall, hitting the cockroach. He squished it to death while glaring at Gai saying, "I feel like crushing a cockroach today", which obviously has a double meaning. Yui got worried as she recalls how Hideki got paralyzed during their mission.
Yui: Geez! Don't kill a cockroach with your bear hands anymore.
Hideki: It's just an ordinary one.
Yui: I know, but it feels uneasy after what we've been through in the previous mission.
Yui checks his hand and sighs in relief. Another encounter happens while they are having snacks with their friends. Gai makes another move on Yui while secretly glaring at Hideki. The tension reaches its peak when Hideki responded. He almost stabbed his hand with the bread knife, saying "My hand slipped". They all survived the day without a fight. Everyone returned to the lounge when Gai left.
The girls noticed the sinister look of jealousy on Hideki's face so they cornered Yui on a hot seat that is more intense than a police interrogation. They want to help Yui with her confusion. They can see that Yui is starting to fall in love with Hideki when that ex suddenly returns out of the blue. The girls really want Hideki for her too. Yui is too shy to admit it directly and ended up saying:
"Well, all I know is that I'm so happy when we started to be friends and...and...I can't stop thinking about him lately."
The girls got loud as they squeal in excitement, not knowing that someone is sleeping at the room next to their lounge and that guy woke up while the girls are shouting "AHA! You can't stop thinking about Hideki. You're in love!" The guy who just woke up from his sleep heard it. He was so shocked to hear it. Guess what, that guy is Hideki. That's the story behind this first digital drawing I made.
