I tried to practice drawing using mouse three years ago to have an idea on how my characters will look like in digital version. Since I don't have a digital drawing device back then, I tried using MS Word curve tool in tracing the drawing I made in paper then I used photoshop for coloring. This is how it turned out for my characters, Hideki (male) and Yui (female). I was not able to do the exact details I want especially in coloring because I don't know about digital drawing techniques back then. I did everything manually but at least this served as my guide so I won't forget about the details of these characters.

Yui asked Hideki about his favorite food. She is so fired up about winning. Hideki likes meat a lot, especially steak. He likes thick meat. Yui cooked a steak donburi for him. She made a rice bowl with chopped steak so it's easy to eat since Hideki can't move properly. Not only that she focused on the taste but she also considered his current condition.
She unconsciously did more than the deal since the deal is about whether Hideki will like her cooking or not. The housewife inside her naturally came out when the unexpected happened. While she is serving the meal, Hideki's right arm started to get paralyzed. The cockroach he squished with his right hand has leaked the virus and he didn't notice that it entered his body. Now both his arms are paralyzed. Yui applied first aid then she started to feed him. Her cooking is so good that Hideki was so speechless when he tried it. He admitted defeat. He kept his word on their deal and started to be nice. Since he actually appreciated the meal and the care Yui has been giving him, it turned them into good friends.
Yui's wife material naturally came out without her noticing. It's all out of her concern for an injured teammate. She used basic healing power to somehow prevent the injury from getting worse until they can have Hideki's arms checked by the medical team.
Hideki: Why would you bother nursing me back to health? With how I treated you, this is your chance to abandon me.
Yui: You may have pissed me off all this time but it's not my thing to abandon an injured teammate. I want all of us to finish the mission alive.
Hideki: I guess you're not as bad as those bastards.
Yui: Bastards? Do you really hate people that much?
Hideki: Well, most people, but there are a few exemptions.
Hideki tells Yui about his past while she’s treating his wounds.
He grew without parents. Their masters raised him. His parents have been half dead all his life. When he was a baby, his parents encountered a demon during the war. That demon has the ability to steal souls and separate them from bodies. Hideki's parents managed to win the war together with their teammates but at the last minute, their souls got separated from their bodies the same time they managed to kill the demon. Their teammates managed to save their bodies. They are kept in the temple while their souls are being tracked. Hideki never had friends too. He's rejected. People don't want to get close to him because they're scared of his power even in trainings. He’s been rejected his whole life. This is the reason why he is cold towards people.
Hideki had two mission partners before Yui came. The first one, Rinko, abandoned him at the middle of the mission. She’s a coward who can’t keep up with Hideki and the dangers of the missions. Hideki accomplished the mission and returned to headquarters alone, heavily injured and almost out of breath. The next one, Akane, is a very annoying woman who only cares about her face. She thinks she's too pretty and she just lets Hideki do all the work because she doesn't want to get dirty. But in fact, she looks like an ugly gay. She has a lousy face. She left in less than two weeks. Having to bear with those annoying women, he turned into a woman hater. He thinks women are just a burden in missions.
Yui felt bad after hearing about his horrible past. She tells about her past as well (which I will reveal on my next blog). Realizing that Hideki isn't bad at all and while Hideki feels the same, they started to become friends for real.
Hideki recovers and the mission continues. They managed to win with their improved skills and teamwork. Hideki got drained after that because he used the technique he just learned but not yet mastered. He used other techniques along with it for a combo attack. It took a toll on his energy so he got drained after winning the battle.
He fell unconscious on Yui's shoulder and ended up sleeping on her lap. Yui got tired and fell asleep while Hideki sleeps on her lap. Their teammates fetched them. They came back to the headquarters with a friendship that sprung from a successful mission. All thanks to the flying cockroach whose life became useful to this future couple.
Wow, Kris😲😲😲😲! I can't believe that you were able to produce such results with a mouse. The lineart is so smooth and clean. I tried drawing Goku using a mouse once and it was horrible 😂😂😁.
Hahaha mine started horrible too when I tried doing it using paint. I figured that there is a curve line tool in ms word so it somehow solved the lineart haha. Still, it's a lot more convenient to draw using a real drawing software and it's much cleaner.
True that! Its much more easier to draw in a drawing software. Art has to be fun as well otherwise there is no point.
