Hello everyone! I'm Lorentm, a passionate digital artist, and today I want to share with you my latest creation for the social media section of Splinterlands, where I participate weekly. This time I was inspired by Sanctus Vicar, who I decided to represent in anime style.
For this piece, I wanted to capture the duality that defines Sanctus Vicar: the serenity in his face and the explosion of energy flowing from his hands. I have portrayed him in a martial arts pose, with a calm yet powerful expression, surrounded by an atmosphere charged with mystical energy. His left hand emanates vibrant fire, while in the right hand a water energy is concentrated, creating a balance between opposing forces. I loved playing with contrasts in this work, from the earthy tones of her traditional attire to the pink accents that glow in tune with the fire.
The background also has its own magic: an ethereal pink tree stands amidst a twilight sky, as if the entire landscape were part of a parallel reality. The combination of these elements allowed me to bring Sanctus Vicar to life in a way that highlights both his strength and his inner peace.

Para esta pieza, quise capturar la dualidad que define a Sanctus Vicar: la serenidad en su rostro y la explosión de energía que fluye de sus manos. Lo he retratado en una pose de artes marciales, con una expresión calmada pero poderosa, rodeado por una atmósfera cargada de energía mística. Process / Proceso
The process of creating this Sanctus Vicar fan art began with an initial sketch. This step is always one of my favorites, as it allows me to capture the ideas I have in mind without worrying too much about the details. Here, I focused on capturing Sanctus Vicar's dynamic stance, making sure that the position of his hands and the balance in his martial arts pose conveyed power and serenity. The lines were fast and loose, which helped me define the flow of energy and the overall composition of the scene.
Once the sketch was ready, I moved on to outlining, where I fine-tuned the details. Each stroke was carefully thought out to highlight the character's structure and key elements, such as the flames and the aura of water in his hands. The outlining allowed me to give more definition to her expression and the folds of her outfit, giving her a more polished and color-ready look.
The next step was coloring, where I had fun playing with earthy and pink tones. I chose these colors to give Sanctus Vicar a connection to nature, but also to contrast with the vibrant energies surrounding him. I made sure his clothing had a traditional feel, while the flames and water added a magical touch to the scene. This is where everything started to come to life.
Next, I applied shadows to give the illustration depth. I used soft highlights on her face to keep the calmness in her expression, while stronger shadows concentrated on her body and background, highlighting the folds of her outfit and the textures of the magical elements. The fire and water were also given specific shadows and glows to make them seem to emanate light of their own, which helped create a mystical atmosphere around them.
Finally, it was time to add glows, especially in the areas where fire and water interact with their surroundings. These small additions of light at the edges and sparkles in the energies gave the piece a spectacular finishing touch, making the character and his environment really stand out. The glow of the twilight sky and the glow of the ethereal tree were key details to unify the whole scene and achieve that mystical air I was looking for.
El proceso de creación de este fan art de Sanctus Vicar comenzó con un boceto inicial. Este paso es siempre uno de mis favoritos, ya que me permite plasmar las ideas que tengo en mente sin preocuparme demasiado por los detalles. Aquí, me enfoqué en capturar la postura dinámica de Sanctus Vicar, asegurándome de que la posición de sus manos y el equilibrio en su pose de artes marciales transmitieran poder y serenidad. Las líneas eran rápidas y sueltas, lo que me ayudó a definir el flujo de la energía y la composición general de la escena.
Una vez que el boceto estuvo listo, pasé al delineado, donde afiné los detalles. Cada trazo fue cuidadosamente pensado para resaltar la estructura del personaje y sus elementos clave, como las llamas y el aura de agua en sus manos. El delineado me permitió dar más definición a su expresión y a los pliegues de su atuendo, dándole un aspecto más pulido y listo para recibir color.
El siguiente paso fue el coloreado, donde me divertí jugando con tonos terrosos y rosados. Elegí estos colores para darle a Sanctus Vicar una conexión con la naturaleza, pero también para contrastar con las vibrantes energías que lo rodean. Me aseguré de que su ropa tuviera una sensación tradicional, mientras que las llamas y el agua añadieron un toque mágico a la escena. Aquí es donde todo empezó a cobrar vida.
Luego, apliqué sombras para darle profundidad a la ilustración. Usé luces suaves en su rostro para mantener la calma en su expresión, mientras que las sombras más marcadas se concentraron en su cuerpo y en el fondo, resaltando los pliegues de su atuendo y las texturas de los elementos mágicos. El fuego y el agua también recibieron sombras y brillos específicos para que parecieran emanar luz propia, lo que ayudó a crear un ambiente místico a su alrededor.
Finalmente, llegó el momento de añadir brillos, especialmente en las zonas donde el fuego y el agua interactúan con su entorno. Estas pequeñas adiciones de luz en los bordes y destellos en las energías dieron a la pieza un toque final espectacular, haciendo que el personaje y su ambiente realmente destacaran. El brillo del cielo crepuscular y el resplandor del árbol etéreo fueron detalles clave para unificar toda la escena y lograr ese aire místico que buscaba.
