Underboss Fabino Simpsons Style

Hi! I'm Lorentm, and I'm excited to share my experience participating in the social media section of Splinterlands this week. I decided to dive into the Simpsons world and create my own version of "Underboss Fabino". This character is the brother of the head of the Gobson family, in charge of ensuring the smooth flow of trapsmiths, the correct accounting of coins, and making sure any disrespect gets its due.

Imagine Fabino at work, at a poker table inside the casino, enjoying a cigar while keeping everything under control. The idea of mixing elements of this universe with my digital art has allowed me to explore new creative dimensions. Recreating this character in the Simpsons style has been an exciting challenge and an opportunity to merge two different worlds.

In the streets of New Gobson, the name Fabino commands both respect and fear. Brother of the Gobson Family’s boss, Giovanni Gobson, Fabino ensures every racket runs smoothly, every coin is accounted for, and every insult and act of disrespect is repaid to the hilt.

En las calles de Nueva Gobson, el nombre de Fabino infunde respeto y miedo. Hermano del jefe de la familia Gobson, Giovanni Gobson, Fabino se asegura de que todos los trapicheos se desarrollen sin problemas, de que todas las monedas se contabilicen y de que todos los insultos y faltas de respeto se paguen con creces.

Process / Proceso

I started with the conception of the character "Underboss Fabino", merging the aesthetics of the Simpsons with the Splinterlands universe. This involved exploring his personality, his environment and his posture, before giving way to the initial sketch.

Then, I moved on to the outline, where I defined the lines and contours of the character, paying special attention to the details that characterize Fabino, such as his attire, facial gestures and the atmosphere of the casino.

Coloring was a crucial step to bring the drawing to life. I used a color palette that highlighted both the distinctive features of the Simpsons characters and the key elements of the Splinterlands world. This included the precise selection of colors for every part of the design, from Fabino's costume to the elements of the casino environment.

I then applied shadows strategically to add depth and realism to the character and environment, playing with the lighting of the casino scene and highlighting certain areas to create a three-dimensional effect.

Finally, finishing touches of subtle glows and highlights helped to bring out specific aspects, such as tobacco smoke, casino lights or reflections on nearby objects, adding a final touch to enhance the atmosphere and vibrancy of the drawing.

This creative process was an exciting journey that allowed me to combine elements from two different universes into a single digital artwork, each step contributing to bring "Underboss Fabino" to life in a unique and captivating way.

Comencé con la concepción del personaje "Underboss Fabino", fusionando la estética de los Simpsons con el universo de Splinterlands. Esto implicó explorar su personalidad, su entorno y su postura, antes de dar paso al boceto inicial.

Luego, avancé al delineado, donde definí las líneas y contornos del personaje, prestando especial atención a los detalles que caracterizan a Fabino, como su atuendo, gestos faciales y la atmósfera del casino.

El coloreado fue un paso crucial para dar vida al dibujo. Utilicé una paleta de colores que resaltara tanto los rasgos distintivos de los personajes de los Simpsons como los elementos clave del mundo de Splinterlands. Esto incluyó la selección precisa de colores para cada parte del diseño, desde el traje de Fabino hasta los elementos del entorno del casino.

Después, apliqué las sombras estratégicamente para añadir profundidad y realismo al personaje y al entorno, jugando con la iluminación de la escena del casino y resaltando ciertas áreas para crear un efecto tridimensional.

Finalmente, los toques finales de brillos y luces sutiles ayudaron a resaltar aspectos específicos, como el humo del tabaco, las luces del casino o los reflejos en los objetos cercanos, añadiendo un toque final para realzar la atmósfera y la vitalidad del dibujo.

Este proceso creativo fue un viaje emocionante que me permitió combinar elementos de dos universos diferentes en un solo arte digital, cada paso contribuyendo a dar vida a "Underboss Fabino" de una manera única y cautivadora.
