What's up my people, I hope you are very well and I welcome you once again to another of my cartoons hehehehe, today I wanted to vary a little with the themes of the last weeks for my blog and I decided to make a kind of mix a little of some themes, both of magic, as the works of medieval style; and that is why I want to introduce Armaund, The Hermit of Mount Pauliessi. As his name says Armaund is an old hermit who during his youth was part of several powerful armies, but as his life went by he realized that this was not what he wanted for him, and therefore he isolated himself in the ancient mountains, where thanks to a very old master he could learn the art of magic and sorcery; becoming one of the most powerful sorcerers in the world.
¿Qué pasa mi gente como están?, espero que muy muy bien y les doy la bienvenida una vez mas a otro de mis dibujillos jejeje, el día de hoy quise variar un poco con las temáticas de las ultimas semanas para mi blog y decidí hacer como una especie de mezcla un poco de algunas temáticas, tanto de la de la magia, como la de las obras al estilo medieval; y es por ello que les quiere presentar a Armaund, El Ermitaño del Monte Pauliessi. Como como su mismo nombre lo dice Armaund es un viejo ermitaño el cual durante su juventud formo parte de varios ejércitos poderosos, pero a medida que fue transcurriendo su vida se percató que ese no era lo que quería para él, y por ello se aisló en las antiguas montañas, donde gracias a un muy muy anciano maestro pudo aprender el arte de la magia y hechicería; convirtiéndose en uno de los hechiceros más poderosos del mundo.
PROCESS / PROCESO
To create this character I focused a lot on letting the inspiration flow basically, I made many free strokes to try to create a character of an approximate age between 45 and 55 years old, with a somewhat hunchbacked bearing perhaps because of the age; but with a very wise look and appearances at the same time. Once I managed to sketch more or less what I imagined at once I started to apply colors to build a first base of colors that would allow me to have an idea of where the character would go.
Para crear a este personaje me enfoqué mucho en dejar fluir la inspiración básicamente, hice muchos trazos libres para tratar de crear a un personaje de una edad aproximada entre los 45 y 55 años, con un porte algo jorobado quizás a causas de la edad; pero con una mirada y apariencias muy sabias al mismo tiempo. Una vez logre bocetar mas o menos lo que imaginaba de una misma vez me puse a aplicar colores para ir construyendo una primera base de colores que me permitiera tener una idea de a donde iría el personaje.
The first thing I did was to build up the skin with a medium sandy tone as a base and then I moved on to more saturated reddish tones to achieve a much more unique skin; then I painted the eyes to give a little expression to the face. I used a few light blue and very light blue tones to create bright eyes to contrast the character a little bit.
Lo primero fue ir construyendo la piel con un tono medio arenoso como base y luego me pasé a otros bastante rojizos y mas saturados para lograr una piel mucho más única; luego fui realizando el pintado de los ojos para darle un poco de expresión al rostro. Use unos cuantos tonos azules celestes y azules muy claros para crear unos ojos brillantes que contrastaran un poco al personaje.
Finished with the details of the body the next thing I did was to go directly to the painting of the hermit's clothing, for this I built a kind of suit of 2 or 3 parts with a large tunic on top; for this I used some flat brushes along with some rough brushes to give me those textures that I needed. After the hermit costume I moved on to what would be Armaund's hair, I wanted it to be a long hair very much in the style of a hermit, but with some grayish coloring to give the idea that the character is already reaching a certain age of maturity.
Terminado con los detalles del cuerpo lo siguiente que hice fue pasarme directamente al pintado de la vestimenta de ermitaño, para esto construí una especie de traje de de 2 o 3 partes con una gran túnica en la parte de arriba; para esto empleé algunos pinceles planos junto con algunos rugosos para que me dieran esas texturas que necesitaba. Luego del traje del ermitaño me pase a lo que seria el cabello de Armaund, quería que fuera un cabello largo muy al estilo de una persona ermitaña, pero con cierto colorido grisáceo para dar la idea de que el personaje ya esta llegando a una cierta edad de madures.
Finally I moved on to what would be the construction of the scepter or staff where our hermit, I decided to paint the staff in texture like old wood with a kind of pink crystal sphere at the top which is basically where he concentrates most of his powers; I created some small rays inside the pink sphere to give it a more magical touch to it. Then to finish with my drawing what I did was to paint a kind of wooded path through which Armaund would be climbing to reach the top of Mount Pauliessi, to channel his powers; and finally I created some storm clouds in the sky and some lightning to give the impression that something amazing is about to happen.
Finamente me pase a lo que seria la construcción del cetro o bastón donde nuestro ermitaño, decidí pintar el bastón en textura como de madera algo antigua con una especie de esfera de cristal rosado en la parte de arriba que es básicamente donde concentra la mayor parte de sus poderes; cree algunos pequeños rayos dentro de la esfera rosa para darle un mayor toque mágico al mismo. Luego para terminar con mi dibujo lo que hice fue pintar una especie de sendero boscoso por el cual Armaund se encontraría subiendo para llegar a la cima del Monte Pauliessi, para canalizar sus poderes; ya por último cree algunas nubes de tormenta en la parte del cielo y algunos relámpagos para dar la impresión de que algo asombroso está a punto de ocurrir.
