First Alien Art Hive post - some midjourney experimentation!

in Alien Art Hive2 years ago

Greetings! I usually post things in the photographylovers and other photo related communities. Today, I'm posting here for the first time!

While I do make the occasional digital or even physical art in addition to photography, I decided to try out the AI Midjourney Art generator. It was quite interesting and I've already used up the free trial, I'll have to subscribe for at least a month or so; too many ideas to try!

I was very impressed with the quality of the images generated from text prompts!

"Deviant Automata"

Why, yes, I am a fan of Eve Online too. :P

I tried a cyberpunk themed prompt:

I think this one turned out quite well!

Much of what is found on the discord server where the AI is interacted with produces portraits, it seems to have learned that this is what people are looking for. The results and feedback as well as the prompts are all compiled in the database and used in the future. This is part of how the AI learns.

Next, I tried some non-person prompts:
"Spider city steampunk night" turned out pretty spooky:

There's definately spider like things there, while it doesn't look like a place I'd like to live; visiting in some SF short story might be quite fun!

Last, I input a prompt about Crabs fighting in space:

Looks a bit like an epic battle painted in the Renaissance! Those are some hefty space crabs! Check out the vaguely foot soldier looking figures near the bottom centre and bottom right!

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you are interested in trying out midjourney yourself, please do so!
Check out some of the "prompt craft" and other documentation first to get the best results.
