Inktober is a drawing challenge that involves creating a drawing every day in October based on a series of words or phrases. It encourages people to draw and improve their drawing skills. It was created by Jake Parker and was originally a challenge where participants had to draw with ink and, obviously, using traditional methods, but over the years people have participated using a variety of materials, both traditional and digital. This year, I decided to complete the House of Wizard Inktober challenge, and I will be following each daily theme to the letter.

Inktober es un reto de dibujo, el cual consiste en hacer un dibujo cada día del mes de octubre, mediante una serie de palabras o frases. Incentivando a las personas a dibujar y mejorar en el dibujo. Fue creado por Jake Parker y originalmente es un reto en donde la persona tiene que dibujar con tinta y evidentemente en tradicional, pero a lo largo de los años las personas participan con diversos materiales, ya sea en tradicional o digital. Para este año, me propuse terminar el Inktober de House of Wizard y es el que estaré siendo al pie de la letra cada tema diario.

Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I liked today's proposal better than the one I made on day one. They wanted a magician with a giant ladybug, so what I came up with was to make a female magician on top of the insect.

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! La propuesta de hoy me gusto mas que la que hice el día uno. Querían uno mago con una mariquita gigante y pues lo que se me ocurrió fue hacer una maga encima del insecto.

I started by drawing the ladybug, using some references I found on Pinterest. And to draw the magician, I looked through the list they attached to their Inktober list, chose one I liked, and drew it in my own style.

Comencé haciendo la mariquita, ayudándome de lagunas referencias que encontré en Pinterest. Y para hacer la maga, busque en el listado que ellos mismos anexaron en su lista del Inktober, escogí una que me gusto y bueno, la hice a mi estilo.

I spent some time doing the whole sketch, structuring everything well until I liked it. The truth is that with traditional art, I like to do things little by little so I don't have to correct so much, since we know that once we make a mistake in traditional art, there's often no saving it. I say this because I'm working with paint and I wouldn't want to have to start the whole drawing over again.

Estuve un rato haciendo todo el boceto, estructurando todo bien hasta que me gustara, la verdad que en tradicional me gusta ir haciendo las cosa poco a poco para no tener que corregir tanto, ya que sabemos que una vez que cometemos un error en tradicional, no muchas veces tiene salvación. Esto lo digo porque ando trabajando con pintura y no me gustaría tener que comenzar de nuevo todo el dibujo.

When I had the entire sketch ready, I went over it with a moldable eraser to remove the excess graphite and begin adding details.

Cuando tuve todo el boceto listo, lo que hice fue pasar por encima del mismo un borrador moldeable para quitar el exceso de grafito y comenzar a detallarlo.

I made very subtle details, since I didn't have much time and, as I said in the last drawing, I want to try to complete the whole challenge this year and I have to make the most of my time. I'm going to do simple drawings, but always focusing on the theme of the day. I hope you like them, friends.

Hice detalles muy sutiles, ya que no tenia tanto tiempo y como lo dije en el dibujo pasado, quiero tratar de completar todo el reto este año y tengo que rendir el tiempo, van a hacer dibujos simples, pero siempre enfocándome en el tema del día. Espero les guste amigos.
