Inktober is a drawing challenge that involves creating a drawing every day in October based on a series of words or phrases. It encourages people to draw and improve their drawing skills. It was created by Jake Parker and was originally a challenge where participants had to draw with ink and, obviously, using traditional methods, but over the years people have participated using a variety of materials, both traditional and digital. This year, I decided to complete the House of Wizard Inktober challenge, and I will be following each daily theme to the letter.

Inktober es un reto de dibujo, el cual consiste en hacer un dibujo cada día del mes de octubre, mediante una serie de palabras o frases. Incentivando a las personas a dibujar y mejorar en el dibujo. Fue creado por Jake Parker y originalmente es un reto en donde la persona tiene que dibujar con tinta y evidentemente en tradicional, pero a lo largo de los años las personas participan con diversos materiales, ya sea en tradicional o digital. Para este año, me propuse terminar el Inktober de House of Wizard y es el que estaré siendo al pie de la letra cada tema diario.

The theme was “The Gate to the Seventh Realm,” which is basically a door that serves as a portal to a mysterious world. The idea wasn't difficult to come up with or execute, so let's take a look at the drawing process.

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! El tema para fue "The Gate to the Seventh Realm", básicamente es un puerta que sirva como un portal hacia un mundo misterioso. La idea no fue difícil de pensar y hacer, entonces veamos el proceso del dibujo.

My idea was simple: to use the one attached to the main list as my main reference. My idea was to represent a door in the middle of nowhere, with a good structure around it, as depicted in the real image, with its elements and symbols throughout the composition.

Mi idea fue simple, seguir como referencia principal la que esta anexada en la lista principal. Mi idea fue representar un puerta en la nada, con un buena estructura a su alrededor, como se representa en la imagen real, con sus elementos y símbolos en toda la composición.

I used a ruler to structure the entire drawing. Since it was a drawing with many straight lines, it was essential for me to use a ruler to make the drawing and thus also make a good drawing in terms of composition, since everything would be measured down to the millimeter and everything would have the same measurements.

Me ayude de una regla para ir estructurando todo el dibujo. Al ser un dibujo con muchas lineas rectas, pues para mi fue algo clave el usar un regla para hacer el dibujo y así también hacer un buen dibujo en cuanto a composición, ya que todo estaría milimétricamente medido y todo tendría las mismas medidas.

Once I had the entire sketch of my version, I removed some of the excess graphite pencil and began to paint it. I painted the background dark so that the drawing itself would have all the necessary focus. What I do is paint all the necessary areas of the drawing before adding details. Then I paint and add shadows with the paint until the entire drawing is painted, and after that, I move on to adding details.

Ya cuando tuve todo el boceto de mi versión, lo que hice fue quitar un poco el exceso de lápiz grafito y comencé a pintarlo. Pinte el fondo oscuro para que el dibujo en sí tuviese todo el enfoque necesario. Lo que hago es pintar todas las zonas en el dibujo que sean necesarias, antes de detallarlas. Entonces voy pintando y agregando sombras con la pintura, hasta tener todo el dibujo pintado y luego de eso, paso a detallar todo el mismo.

Basically, I detail the entire drawing with mechanical pencils. All I did was detail each area step by step. After a while, I had the entire drawing well detailed, and the last thing I did was add some final details. That's all, folks. I hope you like it.

Básicamente voy detallando todo el dibujo con los portaminas. Lo único que hice fue detallar cada zona paso a paso. Después de un buen rato, tuve todo el dibujo bien detallado y lo ultimo que hice agregar unos últimos detalles finales. Eso seria todo amigos, espero les guste.
