Abstract Portrait #1 - "Look at my eyes"

Today’s post is a bit different from the photography I usually share. I wanted to show some of my art. It’s been a long time since I created something, and I really want to get back to it. My goal is to make one piece every day if I can.

This is the first in a series of abstract portraits I’ll be exploring, experimenting with colors, techniques, and different kinds of alien forms.

I’m also going to show every step of the process, so you can see where it comes from and what I tried before the final result.

Hoy publico algo un poco distinto a las fotos que suelo compartir: quiero mostrar parte de mi arte. Hace mucho que no creo nada, y me apetece volver a hacerlo. Mi idea es intentar crear una obra cada día.
Esta es la primera de una serie de retratos abstractos en los que quiero experimentar con colores, técnicas y distintos tipos de seres alienígenas.
Además, voy a mostrar cada paso del proceso, para que veas de dónde nace y qué probé antes del resultado final.

First, I chose a portrait photo from a gallery site. This one caught my attention because of the light, the expression, the posture, and that quiet, mysterious energy that seems to say more than words could.

Primero elegí una foto-retrato de una página de galería de fotos. Esta me pareció muy interesante por la luz, por la mirada, por la posición… y por esa energía silenciosa y misteriosa que dice más que las palabras.

Step one was to explore what kind of alien look to give to the face, or maybe abstract, I’m not even sure how to define it. I just wanted to experiment and see where it would lead.
So these four were the experiments I made, and in the end I decided to keep the one with the three vertical eyes.

El primer paso fue explorar qué tipo de aspecto darle al rostro: algo alienígena o tal vez abstracto, no sabría bien cómo definirlo. Solo quería experimentar y ver a dónde me llevaba.
Así que estos cuatro fueron los experimentos que hice, y al final me quedé con el de los tres ojos en vertical.

Finally, I started experimenting with colors, making some adjustments, adding a few last touches, and testing small details before deciding on the final result, which ended up being the one I liked the most.

Por último, estuve experimentando con los colores, haciendo algunos ajustes, añadiendo unos retoques y probando pequeños detalles antes de decidirme por el resultado final, que fue el que más me gustó.
