I don't know if you've seen the continuations of the Fantastic Beasts. The one that had a descendant of Dumbledore, Credens. He had a Phoenix about him because of his illness. The idea for the Phoenix was perfect for the theme: Rebirth.
In this period of time when the pressure of the media and society keeps heaping, i can only see one way out, rising from the ashes.
The first time i heard of this beautiful creature's ability, i marveled and resonated with how its feature stood out. An immortal bird that when it dies is reborn from its ashes.
This new year is heaped, packed with loads of opportunities and resources. All we need to do is go through that process of Rebirth (like the Phoenix) and lay aside whatsoever may hold us back physically or emotionally.
Drawing this i wasn't totally sure how to go about it so i got a bunch of references (Phoenix photos) and tried merging a couple of them together.
The idea of the sun and, the green background and the bird-shaped ash on the floor from which the Phoenix rose is fully my idea.
I used primarily my black BIC pen in making this.
Then i layered it with some yellow, orange and red coloring.
I then drew the ash with the black pen then the green background with two shades of green.
