Polysphere Fire Flower - Poly Photographic Art

Hello my dear people, again it is a pleasure to greet my friends, followers and fellow artists, it is also wonderful and a source of great joy for me to be writing some new lines to share on my blog.

This time I bring you another of my varied artistic proposals, in this case based on minimalist concepts and poly art, but always with a great presence of nature in my art. For some time now, Poly Art has been attracting my attention, I have been researching the technique a bit and seeing several works presented in this style, finally a while ago I decided to do my first Poly Art but in my own style; that is, taking my photograph as a base.

In this regard, I would love to say that the flower chosen for this art is a beautiful Gerbera, which is a species widely cultivated in floriculture and of African origin. These flowers are also grown in my country Venezuela and are highly appreciated throughout the world, which is why they are exported with great success.

I took the photograph of this magnificent flower in a farm located in a small town called Potrerito, during one of the recordings of my Audiovisual Project "Sembrando un País". When I work my photos into visual art, it usually retains a lot of the essence of the image, however sometimes I like to go further and delve into what I can do with the use of filters and adjustments in Photoshop.

Therefore (and as you can see in the following comparison) the photograph was significantly modified compared to the original image, the flower is still there of course and part of its essence is still intact; but it is no longer just a Gerbera but My Gerbera:

To achieve this finish I had to apply 3 filters together, then force the contrast to the maximum to make the background of the image completely dark, the filters helped me to give a touch of the Poly Art style but this was thanks to the shapes natural of the petals of the flower, since if those forms did not exist in the image, the filters would not have been of any use; Well, what these filters really do is accentuate the lines that make up these shapes.

The same old rule applies here: to get a good job you need a good canvas, and in this case a good photograph is my canvas. So, just as I did in my traditional job as a photographer, now I also have to do a photographic selection (and sometimes some preliminary tests) to determine which of my images best suits my concept, or determine if I need to take another photo that allow me to achieve what I want.

So in this Visual Art technique that I have been using for more than a year, there is also still a lot of traditional photographic work. I have also done some similar works with other plants and animals (and the results have been very satisfactory), however in those works I had not included this touch of Poly Art since the forms were not as outlined as a set of polygons that make up the image.

As I do with most of my works, I coined this art to an NFT and only created a single edition that is already sold, this way I make sure that my art is unique and unrepeatable, and at the same time I give my collectors the possibility of owning very special digital assets of which one person is the only one who can have ownership.

In this last year I feel that I have learned more about myself than in my entire life, I had always had certain concerns with art but I had never exploited them much and I had just let this part of my being come out. Now that I have let my heart be free to create, I have found myself with a sudden happiness that I had never experienced before. I also learned that I am a very restless person and that I constantly have very different ideas.

I also have an incessant need to create different things, explore styles that I had not tried and do everything that I have not done, and although there are certain styles that I practice more than others, I do not define myself specifically by any; and when I try to do it, only one question arises in my mind "and why do I have to limit myself to only one style?"

So I give myself permission to think and devise and imagine anything I want and I try to do at least most of those things.
