Different countries have different customs, as the saying goes, right?
Here, in Thailand (especially on Koh Phangan), you can feel a kind of spirituality in a very special way. It is omnipresent, you can just feel it. It's hard to describe, it's different to Austria or Europe! Different and beautiful.
Maybe it's because of the place that I'm tempted to draw more spiritual pictures. After all, I am surrounded by such statues and temples.
It's interesting to immerse myself in these themes. Shiva, who is known as the destroyer, is actually not so brutal in his destruction. This deity represents bhakti (love) in a very special way. Because he is completely devoted to Krishna. Similar to the monkey god Hanuman. Krishna stands for the great and the whole. The main god, a facet of Brahma, as far as I have understood correctly.
Buddhism has split off from Hinduism, but Shiva, Krishna, Ganesha and other Indian characters can be found everywhere in Thailand. Which is very fascinating.
Inspired by Shiva, who is courageous to always change and act from the heart. The one who knows that the old must go so that the new can come. Shiva, the transforming power that lies dormant in each of us. It is precisely this character that I am devoting my attention to today and have spent more than 10 hours drawing a portrait of him.

Andere Länder andere Sitten, so sagt man doch so schön gell?
Hier, in Thailand (speziell auf Koh Phangan), spürt man eine Art Spiritualität auf ganz besondere Weise. Diese ist allgegenwärtig, man fühlt es einfach. Schwer zu beschreiben, es ist anders als in Österreich oder Europa! Anders und wunderschön.Vielleicht bin ich wegen dem Ort angetan, mehr spirituelle Bilder gerade zu zeichnen. Immerhin umgeben mich solch Statuen und Tempelanlagen.
Es ist interessant in diese Thematiken einzutauchen. Shiva, welcher als Zerstörer bekannt ist, ist eigentlich gar nicht so brutal am kaputt machen. Diese Gottheit repräsentiert bhakti (Liebe) auf ganz besondere Art. Den er ist Krishna voll und ganz zugetan. Ähnlich wie der Affengott Hanuman. Krishna steht für das Große und Ganze. Der Hauptgott, eine Facette von Brahma, soweit ich es richtig verstanden habe.
Der Buddhismus hat sich vom Hinduismus abgespalten, doch findet man überall in Thailand auch Shiva, Krishna, Ganesha und andere indische Charaktere. Was sehr faszinierend ist.
Inspiriert von Shiva, dem der mutig ist sich stets zu wandeln und vom Herzen zu agieren. Dem der weiß, dass Altes gehen muss, damit Neues kommen kann. Shiva, der transfomierenden Kraft die in jedem von uns schlummert. Genau diesem Charakter widme ich heute meine Aufmerksamkeit und zeichnete insgesamt mehr wie 10 Stunden an einem Portrait von ihm.

First Sketch finished. After some shades and shadows. Slowly started coloring.
Some insights of my layers. Again making sure that if I make a mistake, i could correct it more easily.
Layer 4 is a pain in the ass.... Sorry for that words, but it is really. Doing the finer techniques and blending slowly everything takes an eternity for me.
The jewelry I made on a new layer. Than I switched the position of 4 and 5. So layer 4 is now on spot 5.
Also used the hair tools (brushes).
Phew, worked out better than I thought. What you think?
