"Resist" is my second piece published to NFT Showroom, and my first published artwork bearing my signature in a plainly visible manner. The piece is a re-creation of one that I created at the beginning of the protests nationwide following the murder of George Floyd. While the Guy Fawkes mask is iconic and clearly recognizable as a symbol for the liberation movement known as Anonymous,the three arrows within a circle is less recognizable, and is a symbol of ANTIFA. The placement of the ANTIFA symbol is very intentional, and was done to represent the sadness we all share when exposed to such brutal injustice, as well as signifying tears of joy at the political awakening of the American sheeple. This piece is very meaningful to me as someone of mixed race, and as an "anarchist", which I add quotes to because I don't think we need lawlessness, but I do believe that for the our nation to continue and prosper, as it was meant to; for and by the people, we must first follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers and rise against our tyrannical government to start anew. To quote myself, "Burn the whole fucking thing to the ground, so that from the ashes, a pheonix can rise."
(fun fact, Anonymous was once known as Lulsec and their first true test-of-strength was to shut down the Playstation Network for 2 days.) [I know this because I used to be quite close with one of their founding members]
