Espero se encuentren muy bien, hoy les he venido a mostrar una nueva entrada al Concurso de Arte de Splinterlands en esta oportunidad me decidí por la hermosa Mar Toren Trader, ella es una de las comerciantes de las aguas de Praetoria, ellos se encargan de llegar tesoros sel Mar y comerciar con las personas del continente, dentado las relaciones entre vecinos y forjando fuertes alianzas, A continuación les mostraré un poco del proceso.

I hope you are all doing well. Today I am here to show you a new entry in the Splinterlands Art Contest. This time I decided on the beautiful Mar Toren Trader. She is one of the traders of the waters of Praetoria. They are responsible for bringing treasures from the sea and trading with the people of the continent, strengthening relations between neighbors and forging strong alliances. Next, I will show you a little bit of the process.
Cuando elegí este personaje y supe que se trataba de una sirena, en lo primero que me enfoque era en hacer un cabello con mucho vuelo, busque algunas referencias de sirenas, y comencé a dibujar su pose y luego cada uno de los mechones de su pelo, el arte original tiene el cabello recogido pero yo lo deje suelto para poder hacer este efecto, luego le dibuje toda la ropa de la mercader y coloque la base de color, tomando los colores del arte original.
When I chose this character and learned that she was a mermaid, the first thing I focused on was creating voluminous hair. I looked for some references of mermaids and began to draw her pose and then each strand of her hair. The original artwork has her hair tied back, but I left it loose to achieve this effect. Then I drew all of the merchant's clothes and added the base color, using the colors from the original artwork.
Para el coloreado tiene quería un estilo viene especifico, quería que su rostro estuviera en sombra y que algunos rayos se luz chocarán contra ella, así que baje la luminosidad del tono de la piel y dibujé las zonas donde estaría más iluminado y luego añadí tonos naranja alrededor con un pincel de bordes difuminados para hacer reste efecto sobre la piel.
Luego hice los mismo sobre su cabellos, definí las zonas en sombra y luego tone un tono mucho más luminoso del color del cabello y delinear todas las zonas que estarían bajos la luz directa, seguidamente repetí el proceso en el resto de la figura, definiendo las luces y sombras sobre su ropa y su cola.
For the coloring, I wanted a specific style. I wanted her face to be in shadow with some rays of light hitting her, so I lowered the brightness of her skin tone and drew the areas where it would be most illuminated. Then I added orange tones around it with a soft-edged brush to create this effect on the skin.
Then I did the same on her hair, defining the areas in shadow and then using a much brighter shade of hair color and outlining all the areas that would be under direct light. I then repeated the process on the rest of the figure, defining the lights and shadows on her clothes and her tail.
Coloreada la figura procedí a definir el fondo que sería por supuesto el fondo marino, ya había dibujado algo, pero era bastante sencillo lo tomé como referencia para algunas cosas, pero en general me deje llevar y comencé a definir los corales y luego algunas formaciones del fondo rocoso al fondo de la imagen.
Luego dibuje la fauna marina compuesta por muchos pecesitos de colores nadando alrededor de la mercader, por ultimo dibuje la luz impactando sobre ñas olas del más y los rayos de luz que se cuelan y llegan hasta la protagonista de esta imagen.
Once I had colored the figure, I proceeded to define the background, which would of course be the seabed. I had already drawn something, but it was quite simple, so I used it as a reference for some things. In general, however, I let myself go and began to define the corals and then some rocky formations at the bottom of the image.
Then I drew the marine fauna, consisting of many colorful little fish swimming around the merchant. Finally, I drew the light hitting the waves and the rays of light that filter through and reach the protagonist of this image.
Y finalmente así luce esta ilustración de esta semana, para mí fue un reto muy bonito, me gusto mucho lo tierno que resultó la mercader, me gusto mucho la paleta de colores que la componen y en general disfrute mucho el proceso y el resultado, espero también sea de su agrado.
And finally, this is what this week's illustration looks like. It was a really nice challenge for me. I really like how cute the merchant turned out, I really like the color palette, and overall I really enjoyed the process and the result. I hope you like it too.
