RE: Writing about writing

in Galenkp's Stuff3 years ago

I'm not good at expressing myself in real life, so I think writing helps me process my thoughts and I enjoy the creative process too. Like you as a kid, writing came easy, and thus it was pleasurable. One of my most pleasurable things was getting a new pen and notepad - now it's the pleasure of the blank blog ready to be marked. Love your little book, G, it's the sweetest.

I am Wednesday - sometimes happy because I'm half way there, sometimes sad because the week will never end.

I'm not surprised to hear this about you, I know how you like to write.

So you're Wednesday huh? I had to refer back to my image to check the resemblance and yep, I nailed it...Definitely you! I tend towards the glass half full thing, so Wednesday is a good day because it marks the downward run to the weekend.

Now you made me think what day I am. I've chosen Friday because I love Friday's and the image I drew back in 1975 for my book...well, it's me to a tee, a perfect likeness of exactly what I look like on Friday's.

Haha love it. Little you must have been premonitive of what you might look like on a Friday. Now I want to find if Mum has any of my old stories. I think she does somewhere. Or maybe I have them?

Encouraging kids to read and write is the best gift you could give anyone. I'm proud to have given it to my son. Look at this piece of writing by him recently: https://mixdownmag.com.au/features/rig-rundown-kevin-parker-of-tame-impala/

He enjoys it too. I reckon he's a Monday. Likes sleeping in, is slow to get started, underrated as a day, and bright as a button.

Well what can I say other than, the five year old me had the vision.

He's not a bad writer based on that, seems passionate. So, because one must, I consulted the ancient tome of wisdom (my 1975 book) to study the wisdom found there, the words of power one could say, in search of the truth of your son's Mondayness and, crikey you're right, he is Monday.

The ancient tome of wisdom knows all.

Hahaha, it's the second coming of Nostradamus!
