This reminds me of a motivational speech by Eric Thomas called "choose your hard."

A couple of my favorite lines are:

  • "Saving money is hard. Being broke is hard. Choose your hard."
  • “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard."
  • "Obesity is hard. Staying fit is hard. Choose your hard."

    Yeah, similar, although I've not heard that speech. Seems to be the same sorry of thing by the snippets you mention though.
