Just in case you are curious, Once upon a time, in a former life, i designed and built (self taught using Lotus Appoach) a multi-user (about 15) sales order processing and invoicing system for a trucking business.
Over the years more aspects of administration and record keeping were added to this multi-relational database, which began with orders and customers, then adding purchases, vehicles, employees, incidents (accidents), delivery zones, pricing zones, prices, and i forget what else.
The accounts were done separately using initially Quickbooks then later Sage. Sales records were exported from "my" system then imported into the accounting software.
i also designed and filled an estimated weekly P&L spreadsheet to help management know the approximate week to week profit (or loss). Invarialbly come year end my estimates were pretty close to the yearly accounts from our accountants.
Toward the end we were able to import orders sent digitally by customers and export selected orders to a separate pallet delivery network system of which we were a member.
When i left the business it had a £3 million turnover, approx 50 employees and approx 20 vehicles.
The business carried on using the system for i think another 15 yrs, more than doubling the turnover before (at 2nd attempt) the "software" was replaced by a bespoke system at a cost of i think around £50,000

Well, funny you should ask :-), but at the moment (and for the last 3.5 years), and amongst many other things, i am helping recruit to, refine, develop and launch a decentralised #CommunityGovernance system for potentially billions of users, which (imo) has very good potential to solve MANY local and world issues and help emancipate humanity.
