SCP Guides for Beginners: Staff Classes and Post Templates

in SCP Foundation Hive3 years ago (edited)

Welcome to the series of SCP guides! If you want to become an SCP writer, you are in the right place. There are a few things you should know before you start writing an SCP, so this is a tutorial post for beginners. First of all, you need to add your position in the SCP Foundation Hive Community to your post. Newly recruited SCP Foundation Hive staff are not authorized to access secret experiment reports and top secret SCP documents. Newbie SCP Foundation Hive staff are required to indicate their current position as Staff Class: Unclassified Staff.

The @scp-hive account will identify your staff class based on your activity in the SCP Foundation Hive community. In addition, your SCP related post will be evaluated according to SCP quality standards. Depending on the evaluation result and your activity in the community, your staff class may be promoted to a higher staff class or relegated to a lower staff class.

List of SCP Staff Classes

Staff Class: Unclassified Staff

SCPHiveUnclassified.jpg

This staff class is automatically assigned to newly recruited SCP Foundation Hive staff. The permissions of the staff in the Unclassified Staff class are as follows:

  • Unclassified staff cannot participate in SCP experiments but have access to non-confidential experiment documentation (for example: pathological samples).
  • Unclassified staff are not authorized to witness containment procedures. This staff class can only has access to approved documentation of containment procedures. Unclassified staff can add containment procedures for the SCP they will write to their posts through these documents.
  • Unclassified staff are not authorized to attend confidential meetings.
  • Unclassified staff can observe SCPs in SCP containment rooms.

The permission protocol for unclassified staff has been approved by the O5 council members. The SCP Foundation reserves the right to make changes to permissions. Current permission code for staff: [Permission - 0499]

Staff Class: Investigator

SCPHiveInvestigator.jpg

This staff class is manually promoted to SCP Investigator by the @scp-hive account based on staff activity in the SCP Foundation Hive community. The permissions of the staff in the Investigator staff class are as follows:

  • Investigator staff are authorized to access restricted information about SCPs. The restricted SCP information is chained with a tier 1 restriction code and contains
    CLASSIFIED
    information about the SCP.
  • Investigator staff are authorized to participate in SCP experiments, but cannot interfere. [Procedure 370 -
    CLASSIFIED
    ]
  • Investigator staff are not authorized to witness containment procedures.
  • Investigator staff are not authorized to attend confidential meetings, but the SCP-X documents they create are evaluated with the members at the confidential meetings.
  • Investigator staff can go to the place where the SCP was first discovered and access confidential documents related to SCP
    [Tier 2]
    and create SCP-X documents.

Staff Class: Containment Expert

This class of staff requires a high tier.

SCPHiveContainmentExpert.jpg

  • Containment Experts can collect qualified information about SCPs.
    [Tier 1-2-3-4]
  • Containment Experts have permission to contact SCPs. If a Containment Expert becomes infected, staff are given Class H amnestic and receive emergency treatment.
  • Containment Experts are authorized to attend confidential meetings to provide information. Containment Experts become the first speakers at confidential meetings and leave the meeting after providing information about the SCPs being contained.
  • Containment Experts cannot participate in SCP experiments.
  • Containment Experts are not authorized to inform any foundation employee about SCP-X/SCP documents containing a security procedure higher than
    Tier 2
    .

Remember, this is not the classic and global SCP Foundation. Although we are affiliated with the SCP foundation, the permissions, procedures and staff types will not be the same as the global SCP foundation. This is the SCP Foundation Hive Community HQ, all the rules of the global SCP Foundation apply here as well but some rules and procedures may vary.

The SCP Hive Foundation community currently includes 3 staff classes. New staff classes, new tutorials, new community contests and more will be announced in future posts.

Permissions for staff classes can be changed by the SCP Hive Foundation.

SCPs are fantastic beings, so when writing SCPs, please clearly describe their unique characteristics. Remember that anything can be an SCP!

SCP posts must contain at least 450 words. If the SCP is too complex and sufficient information cannot be provided, the content must be at least 600 words.

Note:
The SCP Containment Procedure is defined only by authorized SCP Foundation Hive staff. Therefore, when writing an SCP, be sure to specify the SCP Containment Procedure field as "Undefined".

I'm excited for this! SCP's have always fascinated and intrigued me. I'll read this later. I might join as one of the staff. 😁

Hello, @scp-hive

This is @fionasfavourites from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member - Keeping Up With the Buzz – My Introduction to the Hive Community.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out – Hive Communities.

Also since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.

Also, as this the hive can be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide is a growing repository of useful – easy to understand – posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.

For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, you are welcome to tag me (@fionasfavourites) and please mention @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server if you have any questions!

Dicord invite link invalid. Has it expired?

I just ask ONE THING.
STOP CROSSTESTING SCP-682! YOU'RE JUST MAKING HIM STRONGER! 😅
