"That's a no-brainer. How can you not love Dee-Dee."

When he recited those lines while looking into the camera panning professionally across his face - he was drawing from his own experience, a familiar face, an intimate smile, a shared kiss, his high-school sweetheart.

"CUT" yelled the director from across the room... "That's all for now, let's take five"

Evan is an actor trying to make it in Hollywood, this movie is one of the best gigs he has gotten in years, although his role is not too significant, he didn't mind, getting a chance to show up on the big screen was all he ever wanted.

He had been following this dream all his life, he moved to New York City all the way from England, he left everything behind for this single mission, he even had to leave his high-school sweetheart, a source of inspiration he drew from during the movie-set.

After the set was done, He walked over to the low-budget motel paid for by production, there is a pot of half-finished noodles he's looking forward to eating. He had to leave it behind as he rushed to the movie set earlier.

As he ate from the micro-waved plate of noodles he slowly reminisced on when life was much easier back home in the streets of Southampton, his father owned a pub just around the corner, due to this, he was a popular kid growing up, He actually grew up to be a top-bloke in the area.

He was supposed to take over the pub after his father, it was pretty shocking to his parents when he made up his mind to leave his hometown and chase his dreams. Back home he didn't lack basic things he needed and now he is seated on a dented mattress eating noodles that grew stale as the seconds passed by.

He turned on the TV and continued watching one of his favorite American movies, it was an old classic, one of the movies that got him interested in acting.

"You probably think that I haven't taken these threats seriously..." He repeated word for word the lines from the movie, He has been practicing his American accent for a long while now, although it still needs some touch, if only he could afford an accent coach but he had to make do with the little he had.

He was still very much invested in this movie when his phone rang, he was pretty relieved it wasn't Frank, A shady figure he owed some money.

"Hello mum," he answered the phone with a polite smile.

"Oh... hey Evan" she replied with a shaky voice.

"What's the matter..." Evan responded now sounding concerned.

"It's your father Evan, he got involved in an accident, it's pretty bad..."

A heatwave flashed down Evan's spine as he sprung up from the bed, "w-what happened, is he - is he alright?" he stammered.

"Bang!" loud sounds from the door interrupted this conversation before Evan even had a chance to hear a response.

Another bang was heard again now louder than the last one, "You think I won't find you in this crappy motel, ey... It's time to pay up my boy" Frank boasted loudly from outside the door.

"Evan, what is going on..." his mother now sounding concerned on the other side of the telephone.

Previously, Evan was concerned about his mom when she broke the news but now it seems the role has now switched as her motherly instincts knew her child could be in danger.

Evan's breath now shortened with each second, he couldn't even formulate a single sentence... The situation now seems so dire as Evan is stuck between a rock and a hard place, the loud bangs from the door grew louder and were periodically interrupted by the incessant barking dogs in the background.
