When the digger dug the trench in our village together with other villagers, there was so much excitement that you would be forgiven for thinking there was electricity in the air, buzzing it. The villagers expected even more than water and sheeps from their new life, hope was in every heart. The earth teetering back and forth along with the swing of shovels, there was an earthly rhythm of unrelenting course of fertile soil coming to the surface. The closer and closer deep it was dug, the more and the more expectant for the future it was perceived. With the dirt now mixed in our hands we were able to almost taste the abundance that binds us here. Once the trench was built, it became more than just a construction in progress. It became a representation of not only a connection to water but also a shine symbol for our community's brighter future.
