Many years ago the government constructed a drainage to channel water from the table landed city to the coatlines. They spent so much money in doing this.

But as the years go by, the drainage can no longer contain the volume of water passing through it. Many high rising buildings have been built within the city centre hence more water is now discharged into the drainage.

The inhabitants had to stage protest for the government to do something because each time it rains they usually experience heavy flooding.

The government thinks the people were exaggerating the impact of the rainy waters. They felt the drainage is still good enough to discharge the waters into the coastlines. However, the people during their protest had to make the government understand that such is no longer the position - now, not then - the resultant flood usually sweep through many compounds and buildings.

At the protest a government official came.out and addressed the people promising that the government will definitely do something. Few weeks after the protest the people started seeing heavy-duty equipment and machines being rolled out and making way towards their vicinity for immediate action.
