In Toronto, as across Canada and in many countries in the Northern Hemisphere, we find ourselves enjoying fall 2023.
Between yellow and orange, green also predominates. The bushes will be left uncovered these days waiting to be dressed in the white snow.
The water mirrors will solidify and provide a natural recreational area that will last until March 2024.
The appearance of the seasonal dishes is also a kaleidoscope of sweet and sour-sweet flavours. Cakes, compotes, and fruit salads with a predominance of apples. In just over a month's time, all this heralds the full onset of winter, when sweet things will provide the calories needed to cope with the low temperatures.
My favourite, pumpkin pie with chocolate. It's not very commercial, it's more homemade. It is made from the pulp extracted from the pumpkins used for Halloween.
Imagine sitting in front of the fireplace, listening to the wood burning, with Bill Evans-style music playing in the background. A good cake, a generous cocoa cake, in the company of the family, all in perfect harmony.
I hope you enjoyed the images as much as I did. Unfortunately, an image is not the same as living it, one stands still looking through the viewfinder of the camera because what is detailed in colour, with the smell and sounds of nature is indescribable if you have not lived it. Thank you for making it this far.
Thanks to my friend @wakeupkitty, who, by reading my previous post, detected the semantic inconsistency. All positive remarks, comments…, are welcome.
