Orion is one of the most recognisable and prominent constellations in the night sky. Its name comes from Greek mythology, where it represents a legendary hunter.

It is located at the celestial equator and is visible from different parts of the world at different times of the year.

The constellation Orion is composed of several bright stars that form a recognisable figure in the shape of a hunter with a distinctive sword and belt.

Some of the most prominent stars in Orion include Betelgeuse, Rigel, Bellatrix and Saiph. Betelgeuse, in particular, is a red supergiant star noted for its brightness and colour.

Within Orion is also the famous Orion's belt, composed of three stars aligned in a straight line. This belt is easily recognisable and serves as a reference point for locating other stars and constellations in the sky.

In addition to its prominent stars, Orion is also home to other interesting celestial objects. For example, the Orion nebula, also known as M42, is one of the brightest and most observable nebulae in the sky. This nebula is a stellar nursery where new stars are forming and emitting bright and colourful light.
