These 'Strangers' lightly reminds me of "Childhood's End" by ACC.
I'm going to indulge in some 3rd neighbor observer perspective:
Carol, darling, you need to lighten-up sometimes, don't follow the rules so closely, it's just a tiny old-fashioned little gesture... no one's gonna know...
(They gonna know.)
Bob, you horny idiot, giving women the reproductive organs of plants has been out of fashion for decades now, due to it also being criminally illegal.
Seriously though, I kinda like the idea of plopping people in random plots of land all over the globe and elimination all borders.
But if everyone takes a flower...
And if no takes a flower...
What is the point of the human obsession with flower?
I really loved Childhood's End. Thoroughly! The Strangers are also slightly inspired, a little bit from some stuff out of China Mieville's fucking excellent The City and The City.
Notes taken.
Yah, I don't know why flowers... must have started by some anxiety riddled ape.
Tulip Mania
wow crazy:
Evidence suggests that the practice began as early as 60,000 years ago, with flower petals found in ancient graves, possibly symbolizing remembrance or offering good luck for the afterlife.
Jesus must have had thousands of medicinal plants in his tomb for him to come out looking for more after three days
mostly ganga ( for real )
along with giants ( bones )
