Tarrina
Tarrina was Locum Alset’s wife. She and Locum helped raise Sanguine before he came of age to become the Chief of the North. After that, she returned to Carrington City with Locum.
Teahena Carvaress
Teahena was the wife of Malcolm Carvaress and the mother of Noilemac. They were the last remaining members of the Carvaress family living in the North District. The family survived the rebellion by hiding in the mountains.
Many years later, the fortunes of the family changed. Tiberius visited the Carvaress family to inform them about what happened to their daughter Noilemac as well as reveal that an orphan was in their home impersonating her. Tiberius used this opportunity to trap Teahena and Malcolm in the library. Tiberius proceeded to set the house on fire. Both Teahena and Malcolm were killed in the fire.
Technicians
Technicians started as the employees in the Alset facility in the North District. They were given a drug that enabled them to focus intently on any task given to them. This drug also caused them brain damage. This brain damage caused them to be more placid and less questioning of authority or the tasks they had been given. Eventually, the technicians became the main employees of the Alset Company in all districts.
After the stadium disaster, the technicians were forced to move to Carrington City and Cellrebrum City. These cities became giant prisons for the Alset family and their employees. They continued working for the Alset Company and produced output used by the rest of Sapey.
When the enforcers attacked and destroyed both Carrington and Cellrebrum cities, the technicians moved underground to operate the underground cities. They remained underground for a thousand years.
Teddy
Teddy was once a nervous Trisomy-21 Sapien waiting at a train station to travel to the new Downs Region. This changed when Jonah approached him. Teddy and Jonah became inseparable friends. Jonah greatly contributed to building Teddy’s confidence.
Teddy became the first representative for the Downs Region. He went to the Capital Region parliament and made a brilliant and historic speech. To Maskameera’s dismay, Teddy received a standing ovation. This temporality dethroned her prenatal termination programme.
Despite his popularity, Teddy was never elected as governor. However, he will always be remembered as the most legendary representative for the Downs Region.
Tiberius
Tiberius was born in the North District. His father was Sanguine, the Chief in the North, and Erin. Tiberius had an older twin brother, Titus, who was kidnapped as a baby but was believed to be dead. Sanguine was very strict with Tiberius. He wanted him to be a strong chief. Instead, Tiberius became angry and resentful towards his father. When Titus returned to the family, Tiberius felt rejected, as he was no longer in line to become chief, which was something he had always been promised.
Tiberius visited and confronted Titus’ former kidnapper. Before killing the kidnapper, Tiberius found out that Titus was planning to poison and kill his family. Tiberius returned home with the kidnapper’s head in a bag. He revealed the head to Titus. Titus was shocked. Tiberius charged Titus with a knife and stabbed him to death. Sanguine came out and embraced Tiberius. He knew he foiled Titus and the kidnapper’s plan. Erin watched in horror.
Sanguine became more focused on training Tiberius to be chief. Despite his young age, Sanguine promoted Tiberius to head of his guards. The former head became the head trainer and a mentor to Tiberius. Like his father, Tiberius adopted a very tough stance on crime. He made sure anyone suspected of committing a crime suffered terrible punishments.
Tiberius developed a strange obsession with the orphanage and the orphans. He wanted the oldest orphans to join his guards. He used brutal tactics to determine who he considered the toughest. The most brutal tactic was to force them to fight to the death. Sanguine did not like the way Tiberius treated the orphans, but he did little to stop him.
One of the orphans, NB14572, later referred to as the Hat Lady, stood up to Tiberius. Tiberius hated her defiance, which cost Tiberius some respect from his own guards. With the help of the head trainer, Tiberius obtained almost absolute obedience from his guards. His focus turned back to the orphans.
NB14572 and her best friend NB14564 attempted to escape the orphanage and the North District. Their attempt to escape was foiled by the head trainer. Tiberius took the two children into the woods. To punish NB14572 for the trouble she had caused him, he brutally cut off NB14564’s legs, leaving him to bleed to death. NB14572 was completely shattered. Tiberius felt he finally had her under control.
NB14572 escaped the orphanage again. This time she did not try to escape the North District, and the orphanage did not report her escape. However, an orphanage employee saw her playing with Noilemac. She informed the guards. The guards grabbed the two girls. NB14572 shapeshifted into Noilemac and shapeshifted Noilemac into her. Noilemac was taken back to the orphanage.
Tiberius rushed to the orphanage to see if the guards had captured the right girl. Tiberius was unsure, so he killed her to see if she would shapeshift into NB14572; she did not. Tiberius knew he had killed the wrong girl. To dispose of her, he told his guards to throw her onto a fire. He also threw Melandria on the fire as well because she was a witness.
Tiberius went to the Carvaress mansion to retrieve NB14572. He informed Noilemac’s parents that the girl in their house was an imposter and their actual daughter had been killed in the orphanage. Her parents were shocked, but Tiberius convinced them to pursue NB14572.
Tiberius took the opportunity to set the house on fire using the many candles they had lit. He wanted to kill NB14572 and cover his tracks by wiping out the Carvaress family. Noilemac’s parents were trapped inside and died, but NB14572 managed to escape. She slipped away into the mountains, where she hid for years.
Sanguine found out that Tiberius was behind the fire that killed the Carvaress family. He wanted to strip Tiberius of his position as captain of the guards. Tiberius responded by ordering his guards to rape and kill his own mother. Tiberius always felt ashamed that his mother was not from a noble family, thus tainting his own bloodline. Sanguine deeply cared for his wife and was completely distraught after watching her torture and death. After this, Sanguine became submissive to Tiberius. He may have remained chief, but Tiberius controlled him from behind the scenes.
Years later, because of the sale of the Alset Company's asset, the North District could no longer function. Sanguine, after he denounced his leadership of North, pleaded with Governor Ryan to help his son obtain a position in the Government. He knew that the job of Head Enforcer was the only position currently vacant and matched his son’s skillset well. Ryan, with a little convincing from his wife, appointed Tiberius as the first Head Enforcer. Tiberius saw this as an opportunity to take control over the Capital District.
It was time for the Pound Ball Grand Final. James Yensid packed the stadium well beyond capacity. Tiberius ordered his most loyal guards to fill the sprinklers in the upper decks with acid and plant explosives in some of the columns holding up the stadium roof and upper decks. At halftime, the sprinklers were activated. This caused the fans to stampede towards the field, but nobody could access the field because of the plexiglass. The pillars fell, and the sections they were holding up collapsed on top of the fans.
Altogether over 50,000 were killed in this disaster; this included Ryan’s wife, Saliyah. Tiberius was able to blame the disaster on James Yensid for poor safety standards, Hadrian Alset for sabotaging the stadium, and the rest of the Alset family for being complicit.
A jury was formed to sentence the perpetrators. Hadrian was sentenced to death and was to be executed. Tiberius asked the crowd if they would grant him mercy, knowing that there was zero chance they would. Suddenly, Ryan arrived. He addressed the angry crowd, telling them that he let them down. He told them that they should listen to Tiberius and grant Hadrian mercy. The crowd demanded mercy for Hadrian. Initially, Tiberius was furious, but that changed quickly when Ryan announced he was stepping down and that he endorsed Tiberius to be the new governor.
Tiberius’ long reign as governor had begun. Every four years, Tiberius was required to run for re-election. Every time he won. Tiberius and Sanguine ensured that Tiberius had only one viable opposition, and that was the House of Divine Knowledge. Tiberius used fear to control their weak leadership.
Sanguine created his entertainment action team to control the narrative and maintain the perception that Tiberius was the superior leader to the opposition supported by the House of Divine Knowledge. The technology revolution, which continued to improve the quality of life and standard of living, supported the narrative pushed by the entertainment action team. A change in leadership was not a risk the majority of the population wanted to take.
Tiberius was a tyrant. He kept slaves and encouraged others to do so as well. He argued that those who were unable or refused to have genetically modified children were inferior. He faced little resistance because Sapey was experiencing such a strong period of prosperity.
Things started to change as the genetically modified Linap looked less favourably on Tiberius. They wanted a leader from their own generation. Tiberius’ popularity took a hit when the second generation of genetically modified Linap were sick.
Tiberius blamed it on the Alset family, claiming they were poisoning them with radiation emitted from the technology they were providing them. Tiberius vowed to destroy the Alset family. He set off with his enforcers to destroy the cities they were being held in. Before he left, he revealed to Sanguine that he was the one behind the stadium disaster and then mocked him over the death of his wife.
Finally, Sanguine had had enough and plotted to kill Tiberius during the attack. The plan almost succeeded, but Tiberius fell into a tunnel beneath the Alset mansion and escaped the bombardment. Tiberius knew he had been betrayed and could not return to the surface. He also knew that the Alset family would want him killed. Therefore, he decided to freeze himself in one of the pods. Hamish had been killed, so he decided he would take his place.
One thousand years later, Polly and Jennifer defrosted Tiberius. Polly placed a Jennifer chip in his head in an attempt to unlock his memories. What she found was deeply disturbing. August, who was now using his Colin persona, and Maskameera, who was now using her Julie persona, wanted to make use of Tiberius to take control of the Downs Region.
The underground Linap believed Tiberius was Hamish, and the other defrosted Linap were unable to correct them because they had lost their memories. Tiberius brought with him a special seaweed that could cure the illnesses in the Downs residents caused by the contaminated water supply.
In exchange for this cure, Tiberius wanted the Downs residents to help build settlements for the underground Linap, who were intolerant to bright sunlight from their years underground.
Through some trickery, Tiberius and his team convinced the Downs leadership team to accept a deal. Tiberius was once again the leader. This time around he was under the control of Jennifer, who could still be controlled by Lily, August, and Maskameera.
Timothy
Timothy was a Linap sent to Cellrebrum because he was infertile. He played an important role in helping residents of Cellrebrum escape when the enforcers attacked.
Titus
Titus was Tiberius’ older twin brother. He was kidnapped when he was a baby and was believed to be dead. For years, he lived in the mountains with his kidnapper named Will. Will treated Titus as if he were his own son. However, he wanted Titus to take over as chief. One day, Titus lured Tiberius to his lodgings in the mountains. As expected, Tiberius informed his father, Sanguine. When Sanguine saw Titus, he accepted him back into the family. This made Tiberius jealous.
Titus planned to kill Sanguine, Erin, and Tiberius by poisoning their food. Tiberius discovered this plot from Will when he visited him. Tiberius killed Will and returned home. He killed Titus before anyone could eat the poisoned food.
Tony
Tony was the son of Sylvie. Tony was a back-bred child. Backbreeding was illegal in Sapey. It was considered a tainting of their species, and the back-bred children were considered a threat to the ‘pure’ modified Linap. When a law was passed that all Linap needed to relocate in the cities, Sylvie was afraid that Tony would be caught. Therefore, she hid with him in the no-go zone.
They could not hide for long. Eventually a farming robot detected them. This led to them being taken to the West District House of Divine Knowledge; see Sylvie’s story. The enforcer sent by Maskameera detained Sylvie and took Tony to the medical centre for tests to be conducted on him. She wanted to prove he had been back-bred.
Marlon arrived in time to thwart her plan. He determined the results of the tests did not prove there was anything abnormal with Tony that could prove he was back-bred. Both Tony and Sylvie were returned to the House of Divine Knowledge. They were no longer in danger. Maskameera’s attention had shifted to something else.
Trafalgar (Head Philosopher)
Trafalgar was a first-generation new Linap. Trafalgar replaced Etnad as Head Philosopher after he died. During the decline of Sapey, Trafalgar became a governor. He agreed to support the creation of the new Sapien species if it was written in divine law that they would never be slaves.
The Triplets
The triplets played as catchers for the Phoenix City Flyers Pound Ball Team. They were incredibly athletic and entertaining to watch. They led their team to the Grand Final, which they probably would have won if it were not for the disaster.
Twaldi
Twaldi was Waldo the Third’s younger brother. He was the head of the Economic Institute. When Waldo lost in the election, Twaldi was demoted and replaced by an employee named Atlas.
When Tiberius became governor, Twaldi regained his role as head of the Economic Institute. He remained in this role for almost another two decades. Eventually, he retired, and Marlon took his place.
A string of events led to Marlon leaving the role. Once again, Twaldi took over. He helped James regain some of his wealth. A couple of decades later, Twaldi died of an illness that was detected too late because of the failing healthcare system.
Vector the Ventriloquist
Vector was the first elected governor for Agriah. He easily defeated Chief Strawley. He then used his favourite puppet, Gillman, to make fun of him. Vector did not remain governor for long. He resigned when he was accused of fraud. According to Gillman, he had hired puppets and kept their salaries for himself.
Not long afterwards, he became an important member of the entertainment action team. The audience found his bickering and frequent fights with Gillman hilarious.
Victor
Victor was the leader of the Inquisitives. He opposed the apparent lack of freedom in Adoy. He desired to challenge the status quo but was dismissed by most as being crazy or a troublemaker.
When Orcille joined the Inquisitives, his movement finally had a voice. However, things went downhill very quickly. Orcille’s presentation at the House of Divine Knowledge incited a riot. During the confusion, two girls disappeared.
Orcille framed Victor for kidnapping them. However, Victor was not arrested immediately because his secret lover, Commander Vulkay, protected him. New evidence strongly suggested Victor was responsible for the kidnapping. Vulay felt she had to arrest him. Victor resisted, which led to him being shot and killed.
Vulay
Vulay was a commander in the Adoy enforcers. She was responsible for the arrest of the Inquisitives. Victor, the leader of the Inquisitives, had been accused of kidnapping the two girls who had gone missing. After questioning the arrested Inquisitives for most of the night, she released them.
Vulay sympathised with them because of her secret relationship with Victor. Everything changed when the two girls were found. From the photographs they were shown, the girls identified Denise and Morgan as two of the kidnappers.
The Head Enforcer noticed Victor’s photograph was not there. He ordered the arrests of Morgan and Victor. Vulay rushed off to reach Victor before the other enforcers could. She managed to do so, but Victor refused to be arrested. The other enforcers arrived shortly afterwards. An enforcer named Arville shot Victor in the back, killing him. He claimed he did so to protect Vulay from Victor.
Vulay was arrested for her involvement with Victor. Vulay was detained in the holding cell with Denise and Orcille. During the short time together, the three of them bonded. Vulay was then transferred to the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre along with Morgan. She was given a cell that was more like a private apartment. She was heavily drugged through her food and vents in the cell. These drugs made her hallucinate about whatever she thought about the most. Most of her hallucinations involved Victor. She even hallucinated that male staff members were Victor.
A short while later, Arville was given an assignment in the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre. He did not realise he was also being assessed. He visited Vulay as part of her rehabilitation, but his real intent was to torment her.
Vulay hallucinated that Arville was Victor. Arville happily played along. Dr. Cortex, the head of the facility, could see what Arville was doing and had him removed from Vulay’s cell. Arville was furious; he demanded he be allowed to do things his way.
The next time around, a gas was released into the cell, drugging both Vulay and Arville. It became clear Arville was deeply disturbed. He was immediately failed. He was then taken to the Carvaress laboratory in the Capital Region.
Vulay was a candidate for a new compliance drug. This drug was meant to induce complete compliance to any instructions. She was given several instructions, and she obeyed all. She had become zombie-like.
Dr. Cortex wanted her obedience to be better utilised. Therefore, he implanted the Jennifer chip in her head. She became fully obedient to Jennifer. Dr. Cortex was very pleased with the results. He wanted Vulay to return to Adoy and become the new Head Enforcer. He successfully persuaded Governor Collingswaggle of her value with the demonstration that she was willing to give her life to protect him.
Vulay returned to Adoy and replaced the outgoing Head Enforcer. She started her tenure in dramatic fashion. She arrested Jacob and Janice. She had Arville killed. She sent the badly injured Polly to the Jeed Region to be turned into a cyborg. She tricked Denise into transferring to Cellrebrum. However, she soon encountered her first problem.
The train carrying Pardi’s solution had arrived. Jennifer was highly suspicious of the solution. She used Vulay to stall its addition to the main water supply until she knew what was in it. Jennifer made use of Dr. Cortex, who was visiting Jeed, to find out what was in the solution. Dr. Cortex discovered the solution was highly toxic and would be fatal in the concentration it was being added to their water supplies. Jennifer needed to save the lives of the residents of both Adoy and Jeed. She wanted them to become Sapiod-like creatures for the Ripe Company.
Jennifer used Vulay to stop the addition of the solution by force. However, she did have the support of all the Adoy enforcers. Commander Wiggly attempted to stop her, and he had direct instructions to do so by Governor Dratsab. This resulted in a fight between the two groups of enforcers. Jennifer took control of vehicles to help Vulay’s side win.
Vulay had made a deal with Demarcus for him to shapeshift into Genève to address the residents attending a session at the House of Divine Knowledge. Demarcus told them about the poisoning of their water supply. As Genève was greatly trusted, all the attendees believed her. This led to an angry uprising by the residents of Adoy. There was chaos in Jeed as well. Dr. Cortex used the technology to capture the enforcers. Vulay left Adoy to help Dr. Cortex chip these enforcers.
Pardi sent a team to Cellrebrum to change Jennifer’s program protocols. They succeeded in doing so. Jennifer gave up Jeed in exchange for complete control over the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre as well as control over another region, which was later revealed to be Lake. Vulay returned to Cellrebrum.
When the Sentray attacked, Vulay was inside a flying vehicle coordinating the defence of the region. A powerful explosion in the region caused the flying vehicle to spin out of control. Vulay banged her head, and the Jennifer chip came loose. Vulay was free of Jennifer, but she was still suffering from confusion and the effect of the compliance drug.
As the flying vehicle closed in on Downs Region, Vulay made her move to escape. She put on the parachute and triggered one of the remaining explosive devices used to fight the Sentray. She jumped out of the flying vehicle. On her way down, the flying vehicle exploded. This killed Dr. Cortex but not Jennifer. There was a version of her in the Lake Region.
On reaching the ground, the Downs residents rushed to Vulay’s rescue. When Vulay awoke, Orcille was there to greet her. Vulay begged Orcille to remove the Jennifer chip from her head; Orcille agreed. After her surgery, Vulay joined Orcille and Eugene at the train station to wait for the Sentray to arrive. Miraculously, the Sentray chose not to attack. Vulay returned to the recovery ward to rest. Later that evening, Orcille took Denise to visit Vulay.
A week later, Vulay had recovered from the surgery. She had been granted the position of Co-Head Enforcer along with Eugene. An important part of her job was to help recover equipment from other regions as well as rescue any survivors. In the West Region, she found a map she gave to Denise. After that, she went to the Capital Region to see if she could recover any of the 19CE serum, which would cure anyone who had consumed the contaminated water. Unfortunately, it had all been destroyed. Instead, she found Lily, who had been frozen in a pod. She greatly resented Lily for her connections with Jennifer.
Six years later, Vulay was still spending much of her time scavenging materials from other regions. On returning from one of her missions, she was approached by Orcille to return to the Capital Region. She wanted her to collect the gold from the Economic Institute and defrost Lily.
Vulay was not pleased, but she understood that Lily was needed. Vulay went to the Capital Region with her team. She retrieved the gold, and Daily defrosted Lily. While collecting the gold, Vulay found Sapiod X. He had been reduced to skin and bone. The Downs maintenance workers rescued him and gave him food and drink.
On returning to the Downs Region, Lily was imprisoned in the penthouse of the hotel. Vulay was unhappy about the level of comfort given to Lily. Vulay was also uncomfortable with the amount of freedom and trust Orcille showed the defrosted and underground Linap.
Vulay was considered an important part of the leadership team. She was included in all the major meetings. She was also part of Orcille’s negotiations regarding the cure offered by Tiberius and the underground Linap. She always held the strongest opinions of anyone in the team.
Everything changed when Orcille was stabbed and needed urgent medical attention. Orcille needed the cure to sufficiently regenerate her body to survive. This meant they had to settle with a harsh deal that meant giving up the Downs Region to Tiberius.
Vulay continued to press Tiberius on how the Downs residents would be treated under this deal as well as the true nature of the cure, or if it was actually just a temporary treatment.
After a briefing by Tiberius, Jenna, who believed she was Tiberius’ daughter, met Vulay in private. Polly secretly followed them. While remaining invisible, she stabbed Jenna in the throat, killing her. It appeared Vulay had killed her. The enforcers immediately arrested her. While under arrest, Polly visited her. She was there to place the Jennifer chip back in Vulay’s head.
Waldo the Third
Waldo the Third was the eldest son of Chief Rundo the Fifth. Waldo was the last chief of the Capital District. Waldo declared the Capital District a democracy, and the chiefs of the other districts felt compelled to follow his example. Waldo took such action out of fear he would eventually be overthrown. An election was meant to demonstrate that he cared about what the residents wanted. His advisor, James Yensid, promised him an easy win. However, James worked against Waldo to get his puppet Ryan elected as governor, the title that replaced chief.
Despite losing the election badly, Waldo showed no resentment towards Ryan. However, he was angry and bitter towards his brother Twaldi. He blamed him for announcing the results of the election. With little fuss, he and his family moved to his cottage in the countryside, which was located on the outskirts of the Capital District.
Waldo was not finished with politics. He kept a close eye on events. He joined the debate team to oppose the legalising of the serum to upgrade the intelligence of the next generation of Linap. Waldo’s debating technique and points turned out to be more comical than helpful to their cause.
When Tiberius became governor, he decided to punish Waldo for making Sapey a democracy. He made him his personal jester/fool. Waldo did such a good job that Tiberius rewarded him with his own television show and theatre production. His television show and theatre productions were incredibly popular with young Linap.
Waldo was so popular that he managed to stop the angry new Linap from storming the palace when the truth was revealed about all of Tiberius’ crimes. He used his old and incredibly famous sock puppet routine.
In his old age, Waldo became considerably less selfish and self-absorbed. He helped James receive compensation on release from prison. He performed shows for charity. He donated most of his wealth to help fight the healthcare crisis in Sapey. He insisted that the new Sapien species never be treated as slaves; this led to this being written in divine law. In his later years, Waldo was chosen to be one of the twelve governors for the emergency government.
Waldo performed shows for both the Sapien and the Linap children. For the first and only time in history, the Linap and Sapien children could play and enjoy each other’s company as equals. For all his faults, Waldo changed Sapey for the better in so many significant ways.
Waldo’s Wife
Waldo’s wife supported Waldo as best she could. She was a strong calming force in his life.
Walter
Walter was a baker working for the Leaw Food Company in the Downs Region. He was the main baker until Julie arrived. He was not able to compete with the quality of cakes and pastries that she baked.
Wendell/L9
Wendell was the second son of Phallia Alset. Unlike his mother, Wendell chose to be frozen rather than live underground. Wendell was one of the friendliest and kindest members of the Alset family. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Wiggly
After Rednik died, Wiggly was appointed as commander of the enforcers in Adoy. He rose up and opposed Vulay when she tried to stop the technicians working for the Carvaress Company from putting the poisonous solution in the Adoy water supply. With the help of Jennifer, Vulay defeated Wiggly.
Wilbur/Edna/Mophead
Wilbur was an audience plant in Ricardo’s show. He would often do strange or humiliating things for a laugh. In one of the shows, he pretended to be electrocuted whenever anyone said something the chair considered inappropriate.
Yassmay and Yassme
Pardi Carvaress created Yassmay and Yassme in his laboratory. They were clones of his first daughter, Orcilla. Pardi felt guilty about how he treated and what he had done to Orcilla. In his mind, he thought he could right his wrongs by starting over again with the twins. He treated them considerably better than he had Orcilla, but he could not resist the urge to exploit them.
He sent the girls to Adoy to impersonate two local girls who had been kidnapped. He did so to frame the Inquisitives for their kidnapping. His intention was to thwart the Inquisitives’ rebellion and to attack the current Government for their generosity, which had made the Sapiens ungrateful. Six months later, Pardi used the girls to attack Governor Lily about her relationship with them and him.
After the incident with the kidnapped girls in Adoy, Orcilla, who was known as Orcille at this time, returned to the Capital Region. Pardi tried to rebuild his relationship with him/her. It started off well but deteriorated quickly when Orcille became aware of the cruel experiments that Pardi was conducting on test subjects.
Pardi struggled to maintain his relationship with Orcille as he had become more haunted by his and their past. Pardi and Orcille had a huge argument that flared even further when Pardi introduced the girls to Orcille. Orcille attacked Pardi. Pardi’s guards intervened and took Orcille away. The girls watched as Orcille was taken away. Orcille shouted out to the girls, telling them to run away.
Six months later, Orcille had returned to the Capital Region to stop Pardi’s plan of replacing the Sapiens. In his attempt, he encountered the girls. He told the girls that they needed to escape Pardi. Yassmay had grown suspicious of Pardi’s manipulation tactics and grown distant from him. Yassme was less willing to leave him. Both girls said they would think about Orcille’s offer.
The public execution of Lily was a huge turning point; both Yassmay and Yassme turned away from Pardi. They desperately wanted to leave their deceptive father. They both agreed to leave with Orcille.
Pardi found out about the girls’ planned escape. He used his security team to detain them. He also went in pursuit of Orcille, who was waiting at the train station for them. Orcille was able to escape Pardi without leaving the Capital Region.
Orcille attempted a second escape. This time things went terribly wrong. Both girls fell from the train platform. They were rushed to the Carvaress section of the medical centre. Pardi gave them the most recent version of the healing serum, 19CE. He desperately hoped he could save them, but nothing seemed to be happening. Eventually, Pardi gave up hope. He was wrong to do so. Just after he had left, the girls started showing signs of life.
The Sentray attacked the Capital Region, destroying almost the entire region. Yassmay and Yassme escaped the medical centre. They found a food truck, which they stocked with pizzas and pancake mix. They left the Capital Region and headed south. Eventually, they came across Downs, the only region not destroyed by the Sentray. There they were reunited with Orcille. The girls convinced Orcille to revert to her former identity of Orcilla.
Six years passed; Yassmay and Yassme had started to grow apart. Yassmay had become very close to Orcilla as the two of them devoted all of their time to finding cures for the illnesses that plagued the Downs residents. Yassme preferred to work on other projects such as improving fuel efficiency and upgrading existing technology. Her favourite new invention was the ‘mind voice’ device that enabled thoughts to be converted into words. She had built one for Hamlet. Both Yassmay and Orcille were disappointed she did not help them. They thought her work was wasting time when she could be saving lives.
Lily was rescued from the pod she had been frozen inside. She was taken to the Downs Region to help Orcilla translate some ancient documents found in the chambers where the frozen Linap had been found.
Yassme was pleased to see Lily again. She still strongly admired Lily, and she felt guilty about the way she had treated her in the interview. Lily immediately noticed the rift between Yassme and Yassmay and Orcilla. She wanted to use the divide to work her way back into power. Lily went to great effort to demonstrate that Orcilla was trying to drive a wedge between the twins. As time passed, Yassme’s anger towards Orcilla grew.
Orcilla found out that Lily had been talking to Yassme. She confronted her on the content of their conversations. Lily provoked Orcilla and goaded her into attacking her. Orcilla took the bait. Lily knew Yassme was on her way and wanted her to witness this aggression. Yassme arrived and forcefully subdued Orcilla, causing her some harm.
Meanwhile, Yassmay appeared to have come close to a cure for the sick Downs residents. She and Orcilla had developed a serum using Sapiod X’s genetics. It appeared to help rapidly heal anything. Yassmay wanted to try it on the sickest Downs residents. Orcilla was concerned but eventually allowed Yassmay to do so with ten selected candidates.
At first, it appeared to be a great success. The candidates were recovering rapidly. However, things went horribly wrong. All the sickest Downs residents had heart conditions. The serum was causing their hearts to heal but also causing them to grow. Their hearts soon grew too big for their bodies. This caused all the test candidates to die. Yassmay was completely devastated. Yassme saw how devastated Yassmay was and immediately blamed Orcilla.
Tiberius approached Lily on the roof of the hotel prison. He needed help. He believed Orcilla was trying to trick him with the upcoming vote regarding his cure for the Downs residents. Lily agreed that it was a trap. She told him she knew what to do to stop Orcilla. Once again, Lily met with Yassme. Yassme was devastated after a bad argument she had with her sister. It appeared she had been replaced by Orcilla.
Lily jumped on this opportunity to convince Yassme to kill Orcilla. In her emotional state, Yassme agreed to do it. Lily still doubted Yassme would actually kill Orcilla, but an attempt or a life-threatening injury would serve her purpose nicely.
Later that evening, Yassme visited Orcilla in the laboratory. She was full of fear and uncertainty. Orcilla knew something was wrong. She hugged Yassme. Yassme took the opportunity to stab Orcilla in the chest. She then pushed the shelving on top of her. She heard someone coming and fled. Lucky for Orcilla, it was Daily. He rushed to try to save Orcilla; her condition was critical. They needed all the help they could get. The seaweed cure seemed like the only answer. To get it now involved caving to all of Tiberius’ demands.
Daily gave Orcilla the seaweed cure. It would take some time to take effect. In the meantime, Orcilla was being kept alive by a life support machine. Suddenly, there was a power outage. The machine was kept going by an old battery. They desperately needed another battery.
Yassmay helped Denise and Eugene collect a spare battery from the hotel prison. When they got back it was too late; the machine had switched off. They used the new battery to turn the machine back on but were unclear if Orcilla could be saved. Yassmay insisted on giving Orcilla a whole blood transfusion. It was to pass the regenerative properties of her blood onto Orcilla. Daily reluctantly agreed.
Greatly drained of her blood, Yassmay passed out. Now both Yassmay and Orcilla were on life support machines. Yassme arrived. She was shocked to see the state of her sister. Yassme decided to give Yassmay a full blood transfusion to save her life. It worked. Yassmay began to recover. However, Orcilla’s condition did not appear to change.
Meanwhile at the Enforcer Headquarters, the enforcers had found video footage of Yassme outside the laboratory. The footage was from after the stabbing; she was covered in blood. After the transfusion, Vulay went to question Yassme. After Yassme’s explanation of events, Vulay chose not to arrest her.
Both Yassme and Yassmay recovered from the transfusion. However, Orcilla was still unresponsive. Based on the agreed deal, many of the Downs residents were leaving to help build the underground Linap’s new settlements. Yassmay chose to stay with Yassmay. However, she changed her mind when she discovered Yassme’s blood-covered clothes. She knew what Yassme had done. In heartbreak, she decided to leave Yassmay and join Daily in transporting Orcilla out of Downs.
Daily and Yassmay had no intention of going to the site of the new settlement. When they had the opportunity, they broke from the convoy they were in and headed west towards Location 10, where they hoped to meet Flint Alset.
Just as they were about to reach Location 10, they were caught by Miro’s guards, who were in a flying vehicle. Their vehicle was shot, causing it to crash. It appeared both Yassmay and Orcilla were dead. Daily was alive, and he and a dead technician were taken back to Downs.
Yassmay’s regenerative powers soon kicked in, and she began to recover, and Orcilla suddenly awoke from her coma.
Yvonne/L3
Yvonne was the second oldest daughter of Phallia Alset. Like her two older brothers, Yvonne chose to be frozen instead of living underground.
Zolam
Zolam was one of the deputy heads at the Cellrebrum Rehabilitation Centre. Zolam was responsible for running many of the operations in the centre and often had direct contact with prisoners. Zolam was gradually growing suspicious of Dr. Cortex and his actions. He was even less happy when Dr. Cortex added the Jennifer chip to his brain.
Zolam was put in charge of testing Dr. Cortex’s compliance drug on Vulay. He gave a variety of instructions, which she obeyed. Dr. Cortex insisted that he order her to shoot some of the other prisoners.
Zolam’s anger with Dr. Cortex continued to grow. He finally confronted Dr. Cortex and told him he would no longer continue carrying out his unethical practices. Dr. Cortex did not let Zolam leave. Mida, the other deputy head, sedated Zolam. He then implanted the Jennifer chip into Zolam’s brain.
Zolam was not given the compliance drug. Instead, Jennifer controlled him by giving his brain electric shocks. Zolam had become another tool that Jennifer could control. Jennifer used him to meet with external parties such as Pardi’s team and Collingswaggle’s team.
When Zolam met Collingswaggle, he insisted that AI be presented in Government. Collingswaggle laughed it off, but Zolam was serious. He told Collingswaggle that he was going to insert the Jennifer chip into his brain. Collingswaggle ordered his guards to shoot Zolam. Jennifer did not care, and Zolam was killed.
Collingswaggle’s guards turned on him and killed him, as he would become a security threat to Sapey if he had the Jennifer chip in his brain.
