My soul cast away thoughts of days gone by,
When in thy presence all else quickly faded,
As rapt mind and heart held you captivated,
Yet to try to forget proves a vain effort,
For even in my dreams your face separates
The memory of desire, and the waking hours
Fantasy clings to the power of lost moments.
Though we must walk alone on separate paths,
The joy and comfort of our bond is known:
How your radiant being lit up my inner sky,
And drank the devotions of this willing heart.
So while I strive thy spell of me to cut,
Deep in my soul thy memory endures forever.
