The clock ticks on though hours feel like years,
Time standing still in absence of your face.
Yet still my heart your chosen tryst foresears,
Keeping faith that you'll come fill this place.
Beyond all bounds that would our love oppose,
Beyond all rivals longing seeks to part,
Distance and duty cannot quell life's rose,
That blooms anew within my patient heart.
Here will I hold vigil in this spot,
As sun and moon keep measure of our wait,
Till in your stride and smile I see you trod
The path that leads you to me, love, straight.
Let miles be moot, let moments be forgot,
Your coming makes this place where angels sit.
