I was expecting this boy to encounter some danger and after being bailed out, he'd learn his lesson the hard way. It's refreshing to see a story resolved with the wiser, older cop giving advice that the child actually heeds. To me, that was more surprising than if the kid had donned a cape and started flying. :) Bravo!
Yes, I've given myself a challenge for the next month. I want my stories to be suitable for young children. It's good to be trying something different.
