darkness rests on my shoulder and I can't find you,
tell me why have you consumed the light of my mornings;
we lived in darkness and it was all we had left.

I'm left with nothing but emptiness and a longing to return to you.
tell me how you'll find the candle that guided your way,
you've consumed it to exhaustion and it's all that's left,
fatigue, sorrow, pain and resignation.

la oscuridad posa sobre mi hombro y no te encuentro,
dime por qué has consumido la luz de mis mañanas;
vivimos en tinieblas y era lo único que nos quedaba.
su llama siempre me mostraba donde estabas tú,
y ahora que has faltado, ahora que mis lágrimas han secado,
apenas me queda el vacío y las ganas de volver contigo.
explícame cómo encontrarás la vela que guiaba tu camino,
la has consumido hasta el cansancio y es lo único que ha quedado,
fatiga, penas, dolor y resignación.
pero es que no ves acaso que has acabado con las horas
horas que te regalé en silencio para demostrarte este inmenso amor,
el que manipulas, controlas y aprisionas al dolor.
tras un telón vislumbrándote dedicando canciones,
canciones de amor y ternura,
porque en tu voz encontraba cordura.
eres como un susurro al amanecer,
una caricia fingida al roce de la piel.
Caminas descalza esperando el atardecer,
y ahora el silencio es quien te hace estremecer.
ni un respiro o un suspiro, si acaso nos queda vagar
vagar por el empedrado que juntos construimos al andar.
Se abre en dos mientras atino,
palabras de fuerza y valor para algún amigo.
si puedes algún día mira las estrellas;
puede que me encuentres en alguna de ellas,
y si así lo quieres constrúyete una nueva,
para el camino o el mar, da lo mismo ya no sabes a donde vas,
la última vela voy a guardar,
y noche tras noche por un segundo su luz voy admirar.
