Before you choose a Web Designer.

As I promised in my last article, let us talk about choosing the best web designer. Please pay close attention to the details of any designer or web developer you choose. Here are a few things you should stay away from:

1)Website Templates

Templates, sometimes known as cookie cutter websites, are pre-made website designs and layouts. The same template can be used for a variety of different websites. If a potential consumer visits a website with a similar template to yours, they are likely to either not take your business seriously or to associate your company with that website. Before you do business with a possible designer, find out if your website will be unique or if it will be based on a template.

2) Hourly Rate Web Design

Some web design firms provide "hourly rate web design." Many hourly designers have been discovered to claim that something takes significantly longer to accomplish than it actually does. In this instance, you will either be charged for hours of work that only took a few minutes, or your website may be held hostage until you pay. Look for set packages that state exactly what you'll get, regardless of how long it took to complete.

3) Insanely high Hosting Fees

Many new business owners and those unfamiliar with the Internet will have their website hosted by their web designer. While there is nothing wrong with this, keep in mind the amount you will be spending for hosting each month. Small businesses with only a few web pages should not pay more than $3-$7 per month for hosting. Larger companies or those with complex or dynamic websites should never pay more than $10-$15 per month. On the other hand, you can come across a design firm that offers free hosting as an initial offer. If this is the case, make sure to inquire about the cost of hosting once the promotion has expired.

4) Long Turnover Times

Web design is a time-consuming process, but a professional designer can complete a website in a reasonable length of time. Be wary of web designers who take an excessive amount of time to build each project. This could indicate that they have a lot on their plate. If this is the case, you are unlikely to obtain the level of attention and care required to make a website a success. Always inquire about how long it takes a possible designer to complete and launch a website.

If you guys try to find designers based on these points you should be able to find a great professional designer for your firm or business in no time. That's all for today guys,

See you in the next one!
