Hey there, freewriters, freereaders, and free-everyone in between. I'm getting back into writing, and figured these freewriting prompts would be a great way to shake off the rust. It's been some time since I've just written, and this was definitely an exercise in trying to find a natural flow in my writing again. Much was left to interpretation from the prompt, but I'm probably going to be biased towards the more fantastical. I used The Most Dangerous Writing App to make sure I stayed well within the spirit of things.
Credit for the prompt goes to @daily.prompt, @mariannewest, and @freewritehouse

As long as we have lived, we have followed the distant sun on the horizon. For generations, we have walked the ice, with only a distant twilight to guide us across a still Earth. There are no cities, no countries, no homes. All must walk forever, or be left to scorch in the sun that follows the shadows. There was a time where this was not true; where the sun rose and set and time was measured in days, hours, minutes. Where grasses grew and homes were made in permenant places. This has long since passed, for once was man static and the world he tread upon constantly moving, now the reverse is true and shall remain.
A day now takes a year to pass, day and night now slowly crawling after each other, leaving scorched and frozen ruin in their wake. What life remains must adapt to either extreme, or constantly follow the twilight, the place between fire and ice that can sustain life as was once known, yet even this precious oasis is constantly moving across the land and seas.
Many have tried and failed, even more have simply given in, and yet we press on.
