I recently saw an interview with Tom Hanks.. and they asked him what was some of the best life lessons he learned. He said that he wished someone had told him how important the phrase "This too shall pass" would be in his life.
Often we say this meaning - something difficult shall pass soon. But he also made the remark that even the GOOD things in our life that are filled with joy and excitement - THAT will also soon pass.
So we just need to live with the way life is - just like you said! In the ups and downs, and realize that every day will pass and there will be new things to experience when we wake in the morning, IF we are granted life for the next day!
