Rooney and Cordy decided to take a trip to the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the City, so they could enjoy some peace and quiet together.
They needed this time alone, to evaluate their relationship and to put it in the right perspective. They rented a small cottage by a lake, and spent their days fishing, swimming, and hiking in the woods.
In the evenings, in each other's arms, they would watch the Sunset's orange glow descend over the hills ,giving way to the Stars and the gleeful Moon. Their nights were steeped in deep romance.
Their time together was all of poetry rewritten.
On the last night of their trip, they sat outside the porch of the quaint cottage, each cherishing the memories they made in the few days they were together.
They knew it would be for a lifetime.
Just shortly before they retired for the night, Rooney gently pulled Cordy to her feet, took out a ring from his pyjamas' pocket and went down on one knee. He held her hands, gazing into the shimmering eyes of the woman he had madly come to Love, more than anything else, more than anyone else.
"Cordy, I know we haven't been together for long but you are the most amazing woman I have ever met and I can't imagine my life without you. Will you be only mine? Will you spend the rest of your life with me?" Will you marry me?
Cordy felt her breath cease for a moment, this must be a dream, she thinks, streams of tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked at the ring. It was a beautiful diamond ring, shining in the firelight and cascaded by dots captured by the twinkling Stars.
"Yes, yes and yes Rooney!" Cordy whispered, as she threw her arms around him.
They kissed fervently, wrapped in each other, words unspoken, hearts beating in tandem with the rhythm of their songs.
Everything else pales into insignificance.
Cordy felt like she was on top of the world. She never believed that she would one day find such happiness, she was going to marry the man of her Dreams and she couldn't wait to walk that walk with him. She had found true love, and she knew that she would always have a beautiful life with Rooney by her side.
