Marlon sighed as the chip gun fired, embedding the small tracker.
A chance to prove himself, to be with his family, even though the city limits loomed like walls.
But freedom came at a price. He would follow the straight and narrow, prove that they had made the right decision by letting him out early.
And who knows, maybe one day this chip wouldn't mean going back, but a new beginning.
For the time being, he would focus on the tasks ahead: his work, the smiles of his children, and not dwell on what was and the invisible fences.
One small step after another, he would walk the path of redemption.
A new day was dawning; he was ready to take the reins of this new life.
