They were still there. He shrunk away from the window, letting the curtain fall slowly, hoping they hadn't seen him. The crowd of monsters moaned and he could almost feel the sound in his bones: it chilled him.
"Are they still there?" Amy asked. He nodded.
"I think there are more of them." Amy shivered and he pulled her close.
"I think it will be fine. If they were going to attack the house, I think they would have done it by now." He checked the lock on the door again, quietly.
Where had these creatures come from? It wasn't the sort of thing you expected to see on a Wednesday morning.
Or any morning, really.
He looked at his mobile. Still no signal. The battery was dying and the electrics still weren't working. Was this the end of the world? he wondered.
It wasn't quite what he imagined.
He thought he might have at least had some kind of understanding about what was going on. Not just to wake up one morning and find your front yard full of strange beasts.
