Initially thrilled with the gift of a Flea Circus, he soon grows bored and begs his grandmother for a Theatre of Termites. His addiction grows: the animals too. Blooded, he stands in the Hyena Arena and wonders if - unlike these laughing demons - he's bitten off more than he can chew.
