Splitsville - Thursday 5 Minute Freewrite

Today’s Day 881: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: split by @mariannewest is as she says “eerily fitting”. I needed a break from thinking about the drama so here is something a bit irreverent.

The whir of the table saw was loud but the cutting was even louder. Between all the saws running at the same time there was a cacophony of sound emanating from the yard. The piles of items grew steadily as the day wore on. Looking through the piles would be like a walk back through their lives. The credenza that was her great grandmothers, the grand father clock that was his father’s, the china that was gifted them for their wedding, the painting of the family that hung in the hall for years, and even their wedding picture, all sawed in half and split into two piles.

“What the hell are they doing?” one neighbor asked another.
The judge told them they had to split their possessions in half so they took it literally.


This is probably still about the whole baby despot thing though...
