I tried Grammarly before for my writing and in all honesty I wasn't a huge fan. It wanted to replace everything with a semicolon. I personally use ProWritingAid and love it!

Really? I’ve literally never encountered the semicolon problem. The only issue I’ve had is when I accidentally add a misspelled word to my personal dictionary and have to go in and find the word so that it doesn’t start thinking that my incorrect spelling is actually correct. Other than that, Grammarly has been golden for me. Then again I’ve never tried ProWritingAid to compare.
When I was using it, I was using it for fictional writing, so that may have been the problem as other writers I know would have the same problem.
No clue. If it didn’t work for you though, yea I’d say move on. Luckily it’s performing up to my expectations.
