Even the thick darkness in the room could not blind my eyes. I could see it, the ugly-looking creature, eyes filled with terror, standing over me. It has a hefty axe raised into the air, a dry smile pecking out from a corner of its mouth.
"Goodbye" it said, bringing down the axe.
"Not yet," Mike dug a spear into the heart of the beast from behind and roared, "Rot in hell."
The axe flipped and came crashing on the floor. By now the creature was on its knees. Before Mike could say another word, I reached for the axe and decapitated the beast.
Mike and I would fight throughout the night until the sunlight of the morning came to our rescue. We were apparently trapped in the temple of vampires.
