One Stop at the Time
People’s lack of comfort has never disturbed our politician’s sleep. They have publicly stated that they can sleep like babies, meaning that their conscious is at peace, clean, free of any sinful remorse or guilt.
Never mind they tend to overbudget half or poorly finished works, such as schools, hospitals, and street accommodations, like sidewalks or bus stops. I posted about some of this here in 2021.
It took a private ad company to change the face of this bus stop, for instance, which should be the minimum standard for pedestrians and public transportations users to feel minimally protected or comfortable.
Time proved all these idiotic politicians wrong. They demonized private companies and free market and now in this and many other towns it is the work of private companies what is providing people with some public infrastructure that reminds them what it is to live in a civilized society. As far as local and national authorities are concerned, people can manage with less.
They’ll keep charging more, though. No amount of public discomfort will get them out of their comfort zone.
