Just when they thought they had everything under control and marching towards the journey of success, one component within the tool was actually on the brink of failure. Run traces started to show signs of the component becoming unstable. The amount of fluctuations increases in magnitude before it finally gave way.

This breakdown resulted in a production line stop and required immediate attention. However, they were informed by the supplier that there are no available replacement part for this particular component and the earliest such a part can be made available is only one week later. Upon knowing this news, the team had to think out of the box and tried to find a similar component from another supplier that functions the same way and install a bypass to ensure that the component can work on another tool to serve the same function.

A bitter lesson for the team that had to use alternative methods to tide over while needing to always have available component with supplier instead of last minute scrambles.
