Something Creepy This Way Comes? (Weekend Freewrite - 04/18/2020)

Prompt First Sentence: Later, she would read that this was the central quality of a monster

or what made up a monstrous villain. Mr. Creepy probably saw her sister and decided to invite her in for something sweet or whatnot.

Caroline could picture it now, Bernadette most probably got all starry-eyed with the guy and just had to drag Amy with her.

With purposeful steps, Caroline marched down the street and headed for the house where she last heard from Bernadette.

Imagine her surprise at the first thing she saw from Mr. Creepy's front yard.

Prompt 2
His face lit up, he lifted his arms to the heavens and let out a long whoop, unexpected in a man of such sobriety.

or she thought that he always looked sober, which made him creepy to her in the first place.

Just then, she heard her name being called out in long syllables, "Caaa-roooo-liine!!" just as she spotted Bernadette waving from the back porch of Mr. Creepy's house.

This was not good. It was also bad enough that he now took notice of her presence.

Prompt 3
The puppy yelped

It was only then that Caroline took notice of the small yelping sounds coming from the back porch. Cautiously glancing at Mr. Creepy, she then slowly came closer to towards the back.

There she saw Bernadette kneeled beside Amy's prone form and what looked like... puppies?!

Caroline couldn't help gaping like a fish out of water as she watched Bernadette give her a cheeky grin, "Kurt here turns out to be a vet. He'll be starting at the clinic this coming week! Isn't that awesome!"

"That's Dr. Kurt for you kiddo!" as he approached and ruffled Bernadette's head.

Hmmm... I guess he wasn't that creepy when he smiled like that.. Caroline thought to herself but then blushed as Dr. Kurt turned his attention to her.

"And you must be Ms. Caroline, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Adette here couldn't stop talking about you all afternoon, and about how you insisted for Amy to visit the vet soon." Kurt smiled charmingly at her, as if to tease her.

She was about to reply when she felt something swatting at her pants. Looking down, she saw a couple of kittens playing tag at her bell bottoms.

"I saw them almost creeping out from Kurt's fence but got stuck midway. Amy starting barking and I guess that's what got her to delivery the pups, it was a good thing Kurt was here to help out." Bernadette explained as she stared appreciatively at Kurt.

Smiling gratefully at him, and now feeling guilty for having tagged him as "Mr. Creepy" in the first place, Caroline thanked him, "I'm really sorry for all the trouble, Dr. Kurt. Why don't I invite over for dinner as a way of thanking you back, and also to welcome you in our town."

She awkwardly offered, but was pleased to see the doctor still smiling at her; he really should keep that smile more often.

"I'd love that thanks! And you can just call me Kurt, that's fine."
