She paused by the kitchen wall, laying a gentle palm upon its solid face.
"Too long have darkness and discord had their way within these walls. But now a new song will rise up, drowning out the curses of yesterday."
From that day on, Mariana filled each room with blessings, sharing tales of love around her table.
In time, light pierced the ghosts of that sad place, and laughter echoed where pain once resounded.
