A Martín sobrevivir ya no es algo que le preocupe.
De hecho es el último de los 32 voluntarios que se alistaron para la misión de preparar una futura colonización al planeta Venus por medio de ciudades flotantes sobre las nubes del planeta.
Una misión con un solo inconveniente, no tiene retorno, ya que aún no han podido poner a punto la capsula para ese fin.
La ultima tripulada por un mono, ya que cada uno ha llegado allí con su todomachi como jocosamente les han bautizado a los animales, se perdió en el espacio a medio camino, 300 días luego de haber partido de regreso, corriendo igual suerte cuatro de los compañeros que lo intentaron.
Por eso los veintiocho que han quedado se encuentran allí, en espera que todo sea seguro para regresar o para esperar la muerte con una vista poco amplia, ya que solo la oscuridad del espacio exterior los acompaña.
Durante un año han lanzado pequeños robots con algas genéticamente modificadas con las cuales se intenta transformar el CO2, esto como primer paso a otras formas de terraformación de la superficie en los próximos 200 años.
